  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Franchise altering move, I am so thankful to the person who created a discussion thread about the Celtics trading for Zoran Dragic. Next can you create a thread about the Maine Red Claws bench players? I need this crucial information.

Um...sorry?

In the future I'll refrain from posting actual news that impacts the moves Ainge may make in the immediate future and instead focus on click-bait Bleacher Report articles.

Don't worry about him, we appreciate your post, especially since any news during the dry season is always important for us to keep a heads up on any potential deals in the future.

Here's a TP. Don't get too brushed up about it, people get antsy sometimes. I mean what's LOVE got to do with it? :(

I like this deal on two fronts.

The first is that we just picked up a second rounder practically for free.  That's never a bad thing, even if it's relatively unlikely to ever turn into a major asset.

The second is that the Heat make room for Josh Richardson, who is a personal binky of mine.  He's a good kid, he's better than people think (lol at 'improved shooter' in that article - he has always been a knockdown midrange shooter), and I hope he makes it in the NBA.  Looks like he's going to get a shot.

Ditto, TP ;D. We should have taken him at 33, imo.

"Zoran Dragic, brother of Goran, has been traded to the Boston Celtics, per @LeBatardShow. Heat roster now stands at 15."

Per Joseph Goodman on Twitter.

Uh, what? I really, REALLY hope we have something else going down soon. Can't handle this roster of seemingly 8 guards and 9 forwards (exaggerating but still).

EDIT: Goran apparently "okay" with trade, brother is seeking more playing time. - LeBatard

PS: Wasn't sure if this was more appropriate in this section of our forums or in the Transactions area. My apologies!

L m a o ;D. A guard looking for playing time comes to the Celtics,

TP for the laugh, OP.  Well done, sir ;D.

pratice body!! I hope

same, another practice body, don't mind it but I wonder what we are giving up

One of Sullinger's butt cheeks...

I saw this pop up on my twitter feed.  But none of the Celtics guys I follow had this.  Made me wonder what the story on this is.  So now 17 contracts.  Seems like something must be cooking...or then maybe not.  But intriguing...

Ahaha TP ;D. I wonder if his donk could have netted us a first rounder, lol ;D.

lol It's so easy to circumvent the NBA's cap rules. Only in the NBA would you see a transaction like this.

Lol, TP ;D, but there's nothing wrong with making a thread like this.

Not sure if it was previously posted but Hoops Hype has a quote from Ira Winderman from HeatBeat...

Have been told Celtics might yet try to trade Dragic rather than merely waive him. His future, however, is not with Boston.

So we might get paid to take on Zoran, then turn him into more assets; Danny is the best.

That sounds like the plan, but one might wonder why other teams didnt do the same? I'd guess he'd either be waved or be part of a bigger trade.

I had talked myself out of the possibility of a consolidation move, but now the possibility seems to be resurfacing. At least this will keep the offseason interesting.

Or we ferry along the pick we got to create a small trade exception for later use.

Another possibility is a team with a cheaper player they want to dump is interested in Dragic, but the Heat were interested in clearing all salary.  For example, perhaps the Wizards would prefer him to Garrett Temple.  Temple has just the right size contract to take back Dragic.  The C's would absorb Temple with the minimum, creating a full exception for Dragic, and save $400k.

That's completely inappropriate and uncalled for.  Joking about suicide or hurting yourself is NEVER funny.
