Going with the "did his best" group.
At the beginning of the offseason I thought our priorities were:
1) Star - current or with high potential to be
2) Defensive big man
3) Wing scoring
1) was obviously the hardest and apart from Monroe and Harris, there weren't really any realistic targets. Before that he tried his best to turn quantity to quality in the draft and was Mj'd.
To me Amir is a valuable two-way player and addresses 2) without being a hole on offense. Also a great person who will fit the locker room nicely. Mickey has the potential to cover 2) in time too.
3) is the tricky one. I did not see a dynamic scoring FA on the market, other than Harris. He tried with him and failed. I think there is some hope Crowder will step up his shooting. Then there are the youngsters. Smart could grow offensively, Bradley can still step up his 3p shooting, etc...
Overall, I can't help be a little disappointed, but I am sure this will be a fun team to root for and that is what matters to me personally.
