moving his father out of managing his life and substituting john lucas and a condition and rehab program is just showing the lengths sully is going too
-positive roll models that have been there is much better than waltham gym for his particular problem
i-once went to a meeting in downtown boston ,i was late and sat down it took a bit but saw all these white shirts  and women eating salads and yogurts talking feelings and the steps-then it hit OA not AA--wasn't really that much different
-hey just bacause he is a pro you think you can bully sully under guise of poking fun, the harrassment and sarcasm are unacceptable on a celtic fan site- i think sully's weight comments should be policed by this board-that photo lifting pizza boxes although some might find funny was making a malicious attack on his recovery--sarcasm is angers ugly cousin jack nicholson
to build oneself up at anothers expense reeks of low self esteem-go sully

I am totally with you on this rollie. TP. It's disgusting how so many are jumping on the Bash Sully bandwagon and I think it su*ks.

Well I'll give him credit he looks to have made progress with several weeks left to improve. He is soft as hell and it is scary how fat he is/was for a pro athlete.

As far as him being in better shape than 90% of posters I doubt it. I'm 43 5'9" 160 lbs. do Insanity 3 days a week and weights 3 days along with ski 50+ days a year, and no you're not getting any pics of me lol. ;D

I'm sure Zach Randolph doesn't have a chiseled body, and he's done pretty well in the NBA. In fact, he known as a gut that doesn't get pushed around easily.

When I look at Kevin Love he doesn't look exactly "packed" to me either.

Sully's power comes from his lower body, if he tightens up his upper body a little, he'll be fine. Don't forget it's only been 6 months since he began. With Sully the question is will he continue to work.

I agree that some posts are out of line, but fans should be allowed to criticize the physique of a young basketball player that is known to have conditioning issues - especially since he hasn't chosen to work on those issues until his 4th offseason in the league.

I mean, I am happy to see him working hard, but hope he has enough time to tighten up a bit before the season begins (and keep in shape).

He looks less terrible than before, but he still has a ways to go. We are rooting for you, Sully - keep it up!

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
wow he looks great.
I also love the caption on the comparison photos:
What was I thinking!??!

The offseason is where NBA players take steps in their games, and Sully is hopefully in the process of taking his game (which includes his attitude towards it) a whole lot more seriously.

Anyone else shocked at the photo with his shirt off in the mirror?
I'm pleasantly startled :)
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

If you guys think Sully will be an athletic PF by losing weight, you are all delusional.
He doesn't have an athletic body type. He will never be, and that's okay.
He just needs to maintain his playing weight and be strong.
The man can play. Step off your high cynical horses.
I bet you he's in better shape than 90% of the posters on this thread.

hang an extra 30 pounds of weight on your body and see how you feel when you move. fat men only rarely have success in this league, and they usually burn out quickly. dumping the weight will make a big difference.

Let's all just hope any future contract has weight clauses ala Glen Davis. I'm glad he's finally losing the weight - it's been a long time coming - but if his motivation is a contract year, there should be serious concerns about him keeping it off once he gets paid.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I'd take it a step further and say if he comes in healthy and contributes well right away I would move him before the deadline so the C's weren't the one signing him to a big contract
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'd really like to know what his body fat percentage is. Obviously, he doesn't really look like he has the type of body that will ever be aesthetically pleasing; however, I do think our perception of his body is skewed by him being a professional athlete. I bet in the non-NBA population he is perfectly average in his body fat percentage, though that doesn't excuse him for being overweight for his profession.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

He's not in better shape than 90% of the people on this board that are 25 years and under. I'll bet my bottom dollar on that. And that's BS for a so called professional athlete.

Show us a picture of yourself then.

Here you go.

Honestly, that would be my preference too. I know a lot fans see him as a future Zach Randolph-Kevin Love hybrid All Star, but I think his absolute ceiling is 17pts/11rbs per game if he can ever manage to play minutes in the mid-30's. Not bad by any means, but not exactly the gamechanger people want him to be.
