Shams Charania @ShamsCharania
Boston has signed 33rd overall pick Jordan Mickey to a four-year, $5M deal, league sources tell RealGM. Ex-LSU PF gets two guaranteed years.

Got the long contract that I wanted, will have to see about the particulars, but on its face, it's looks like good for us.

Good news.

Does this mean he's actually making more money than Hunter is?

I love this news. Now only if Mickey would grow about 2 inches. You never know!

Good deal.

Now if we could just get rid of Young, Sullen and Olynyk.

Bring on Lee and sign Holmes - to fill out the 15 player roster.

Everyone wants truth on his side, not everyone wants to be on the side of truth.

I think slightly less since we always pay rookies the maximum, 120% of the scale.

Great! Glad we didn't go the KJ McDaniels route with him.

Nope. If both players stay 4 years in Boston, Hunter will earn 5.8 mil (assuming he will sign at 120%).
Apparently Ainge try to low ball Mickey at first, because this contract is fair for both party to me.
Ainge, don't do that to our rookies please. Low ball the other franchises instead.  ;D

Getting rid of young talented players to make room for guys like Holmes when their value is low is not a good idea.

Probably not, in a four year deal with the required usual raises to keep the options open and restricted free-agency, his contract will be in the $7.7M range over four years.

For anyone wondering, Mickey is now the highest paid second rounder in NBA history.
