Nothing is signed yet, that's what they offered him.

What is being announced is not an offer, but an agreement... similar like what we have with Crowder for example, but isn't finalized.

Not the same thing you're saying.

Alright, cause was trying to find the signing and couldn't yet.  All I could find was this as the offer but not accepted.  Thanks for the conformation.

Oh, just in case... the Tweet says "signed". I put agreed on the thread title because to not jump the gun just in case, but at least the report says signed.

The Boston Celtics have officially signed forward Jordan Mickey, the 33rd overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft: http://on.nba.com/1OrVeTU

We have 17, including Babb and PJIII.

It's 16 contracts guaranteed, once the 1st rounders sign.  The most likely shoe to drop in my mind is Pwrry Jones getting cut, since OKC is paying his salary and we got a pick just for taking him off their luxury tax calculation.  If there are no trades, it will likely be a camp battle between him and Young.

For anyone wondering, Mickey is now the highest paid second rounder in NBA history.

Doesn't look as  much of a accomplishment now that the salary cap it rising. This look like it would be the norm unless new CBA changes these signing rules for early 2nd rounders

This will also be interesting for next year.  In addition to their 3+ 1sts, the C's have the potential for multiple early 2nd round picks from Philly, Dallas, and Minny (if we don't get their 1st.)

If Mickey continues to over-perform pre-draft expectations, that long term contract will make him a valuable trading chip if and when we try to swing a big deal.

Highest rookie contract. Obviously guys like Gasol, Green, and Dragic have made way more in their careers.

Marc Gasol made $3 million in his rookie season (three years, 9.7 million).  Goran Dragic made $1.7 million (looks like $4 years, $9.7 million) and, unlike Gasol, he was in the NBA right after being drafted.  Some of the Dragic money went towards a buyout, while Gasol signed after his overseas contract expired.

Not the same. These guys didnt play right after getting drafted. They were almost considered FAs with pro experience under their belt

I just said that Dragic played right after being drafted.  Try reading.

Important date to look into, is what happens in the 3rd season. Will a longer deal be negotiated (make him a restricted free-agent) or go through until the fourth year, which would make him an unrestricted free-agent afterwards.

Yes he's an UFA after 4 years.

The two guaranteed years on the deal — one of the largest ever given to a second-round pick — will total about $2.4 million, a source said. That will be more than some late first-round picks receive through the league-mandated rookie scale. Also, Mickey could become an unrestricted free agent after four seasons.

Not familiar enough with the CBA to know how he can be "re-made" into a RFA as you described.  Any source for your claim?
