wouldnt Bradley have to be in the equation for contracts to work out? Gallo makes around 11m, i'd think you'd need to do a combo of Bradley + Sully or ET.

Not necessarily.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=oockemd

That one works. Alternatively, Zeller could replace Sully as outgoing salary.

The C's are under the cap by a decent amount.  They need to send out just a shade over $3.4 million in salary to have room for Gallo.  Turner alone would work salary-wise.

TP.  Everyone before you completely forgot this fact, unsurprisingly since we just got under for the first time in like forever.  This is a good example of the advantage of being under the cap.

Gallinari is only 27...but his knees are about 60.  I'd pass on this one.

Didn't forget. I was demonstrating how a trade per the usual guidelines for teams over the cap would also work.

I don't know what's worse, us going after DG? or that we didn't even have enough to land him?

it's way worse than I thought.

Considering that he's been on the block for a month and hasn't been traded, by your logic no one has enough to land him.

I seriously believe Denver is having a hard time to get a fair return for Gallo and Lawson. Because many teams are in need of talents, and yet, nothing happened yet.
I don't buy the "no tanking" from Denver. I think it's a lure from their FO, hopping to get better offers.

Hate the dude ......his game is long gone .....not returning either .......dead meat .....

Let Gallo alone .......do not want ....do not need ......we have Amir, Zeller , Sully , and Lee .....have Mickey waiting . Maybe Holmes .

Damaged goods.....no no no

He doesn't play any of the players you mentioned position ... He plays a position in which Evan Turner is our best option. Please id take Gallo over him any day of the week.

This is now the time to make trades for teams that wiffed in FA. I think he is a perfect fit for us. I hope we land him. I think AB would be a good fit for the Nuggets but i think DA has a thing for AB.

I'm not a huge believer in AB, but would have a tough time letting him go for Gallo.

Like the upside potential with Gallo should he return to form in the right system (aka, under Brad). But we have Kelly O trying to fit that same mold and I think he can.

I'd trade Turner straight up for him, and toss in a 2nd rounder or two for the trouble. That's about it.

Is gallinari really better than Turner?  I'd pass on GAllinari as well.

Gallinari is much better than Turner. In fact I think Turner is a bad player, for how high his usage needs to be for him to get his stats he isn't that great. Plus he directly blocks the development of some of our younger guys.

Gallo's best year he was roughly 16/3/2; Avery Bradley's best year - 15/2/1.  Shooting %'s are comparable (Bradley a little better from 2; equal from 3).

Bradley is 2 years younger and on a great contract.

I don't really see what DG gives the Celtics.   He is very tall for a 2-3 and has some position versatility, but Bradley has to be considered the better defender at the 2.

Given the long-term plan -- what does Gallinari do to provide either a significant talent upgrade or a significant asset upgrade?   11M comes off the books next season -- that seems to be the major benefit.   I'd hate to give away any young, developing talent right now for more cap space.

We have a sf in Gigi.  We have enough guys that can stretch the floor

Except we don't actually have Gigi anymore. We haven't re-signed him yet, and haven't even seen any interest in us re-signing him. He's a free agent who , as he said, is waiting and keeping his options open, so no, we don't even have Gigi as a SF, we have Turner and Crowder. Thats basically it.

As long as the Celtics don't have to give anything up substantial, I'd definitely take a flyer on Gallo. He played very well down the stretch last year and I would like to see if he could continue that. Like Lee he'd be playing for his next contract, so you know he'll play his tail off.

The persistent injuries is an issue but I'd rather get an upgrade wth Gallo then have guys who aren't exactly cutting it on our roster. Sully+Turner+Young. I'd do that.
