I'm loving his effort on D, his hustle, and over the last three games he has been rebounding very well too. He is also very athletic, which isn't something we see much of in Boston as of late. Of course it's not always wise to get hyped off Summer League games, but based on what he is showing it kind of surprises me that he wasn't selected in the first round. It seems clear the man has talent and I'm excited to see how his development continues.

New meaning to slipped me a Mickey......
Getting Rozier at 16 is starting to look like Nostradamus made that pick as Mickey is playing as good or better than ANY of the ATTAINABLE bigs everyone was crying about NOT drafting in the 1st...

Outside of Smart, He has been the most consistent guy on the court on both leagues thus far.

....very interested to see the interior D if he and Amir Johnson are on the court together...

Can't blame you, he's been excellent. Anyone have a vine of his huge block tonight?
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

It's crazy, but we can say that Rozier, Hunter, and Mickey all can flat out play the game. I don't know where their development eventually lands, but they all have a shot to do damage in this league. Ballers

He has been efficient for sure.  I think he leads in BPG so far in Vegas and 3.5 after two games.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He's done okay but I'm still not convinced that he'll cope against nba size. 2 okay games, one great game beating up on the utah scrubs, and one terrible game against okafur. The games he's done well have been against smaller 'bigs' like Motum, Orton etc...

Biggest concern for me is his size...at 6'7" I'm hoping he can rebound and defend against NBA length.
His vertical is solid but his standing reach is the same as brandon Bass and way shorter than someone like Gorgui Dieng (5 inches less). If he were 6'10" with his length/speed I'd be more assured.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I wish he were 6-9 or 6-10. The fact is he's a tweener.

That word doesn't mean what it used to. Draymond Green is a tweener.

If Mickey can extend his range to the 3pt line, we could have ourselves a real player here. Reminds me of Green in a lot of ways.

In vegas he's rebounding decently 10 game 1 and 11 in game 2... To be solid he will need to average 8+ in my eyes. But I love the D/blocks, his offensive game isn't to bad either. Hunter's pass to Mickey's finish was very pretty.

The NBA is a tweener's league now.  The Warriors won the Championship by playing TONS of minutes with Draymond Green playing Forward/Center and deployed David Lee as a center in the finals.

The Cavaliers literally took Mozgov off the floor entirely for a game in the finals to try to keep up (not that it worked).

I'm enjoying Mickey a lot too. He never seems to waste possessions, he's always working hard on the ball and off of it, he plays just fine against NBA size, and he even has a little chemistry with Marcus Smart.

Good stuff.

Yes. And he is starting to understand how to play without him also.

Mickey is raising his intensity as the game progresses

This is what happens with athletic bigs, he has a 37" vertical with long arms.  This enables him to play a lot bigger.  He still needs to gain a lot of strength though.
