WOW dude it's summer league pump the brakes. ;)

The future starts today and honestly I am excited. No more hoping on the likes of Jajuan Johnson's or Colton Iverson's who showed NOTHING in summer league action. Don't worry , the early excited ones will let you join in on the fun after the fact as well....

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
We DID need a shot blocker and we found one.

Mickey through 5 SL games:

27.2 MPG
12 ppg
7.2 rpg
1.0 spg
2.6 bpg
53.19% fg
71.42% ft

He won't put up those numbers in the nba this year but he could easily average 1bpg in limited minutes assuming KO or Sully are moved.

Already miles ahead of Oly in offensive aggression (w/o the 3 range  yet) and twice the defender the Sully will ever hope to be...
Olynyk's numbers in summer league:
18 PPG
58% shooting
7.8 RPG
2.4 APG
1.8 SPG

So I'm not sure about showing more aggression than Olynyk.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

They are different players. Mickey is a score 1st player. He feels like he can score 1 on 1 , make the mid range. Does not hesitate. But he also wont take too many low percentage shots

KO is more like Draymond Green.  Could drive in for a layup but instead kicks it out for an open 3 as an example. Or has the open 3 but wants to find a guy who is even more open.  (Sometimes is not a smart move)

It will be interesting to see how these guys do on the court at the same time.

the nba summer league. the place where hopes are raised and razed. the land of over hype and subsequent disappointment. crow is a staple of the menu as i hear things.

death, taxes, and overhype during the summer league. maybe reign it in a bit guys and gals.

summer league...say, believe, repeat.

and remember, harangody averaged 16.6 pts/g and 6.8 rbds/g in the 2010 summer league. micke will be better i believe, but summer league is summer league.

and, from a much, much earlier summer league thread....

The more I watch Kevin Olynyk play, the more I think he's going to be the white Wilt Russell.  Kid's a future stah.

Kevin Olynyk for MVP

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Mickey has a lot more potential than Harangody, with Jordan's athletic ability.   Hardangody is like Sully and Oly in that he has skill but limited athletic ability.   Mickey has elite athletic ability and more room to grow.   Whether he capitalizes on that ability is another matter but he has more potential because of it.  I wish he could get some range and play the three, he would be a huge three but I realize that is a long shot.

I actually think Ainge will make a trade and he will make the roster.  I think he would make the roster over Pressey.   This guy is going to cause problems at our practices with his shot blocking for two unathletic guys that we drafted in the last two years.   They have bulk on him, and will push him around and both are proven NBA players but I think Mickey will get them in practice more than a few times.

I wish he were 6-9 or 6-10. The fact is he's a tweener.

If he was, he would have been drafted somewhere in the middle of the first round, maybe late lottery.  Be real.

HG has been skeptical of Mickey since day 1.

JM is not going to turn ou to be LH. Are you kidding me.

LH was like stuck to the ground. Not even a wink of athleticism. Overpowered teams in dleague. Just ok jump shot.

Mickey might be undersized but he is skilled in many areas. What was LH skilled at outside of an ok, streaky jump shot?

Who the heck is Kevin Olynyk?? Lol

Ainge has seen enough.   Guessing Ainge will give JM a near late 1st round pick salary (900-950k)

Joe Young (pacers 2nd round pick) got a 4 year 4 million dollar deal

If he was 6'10', I don't see how he doesn't go top 10.

Regardless, he can still be a big piece to the puzzle.  His length can still do damage in this league, regardless of his height.

Mickey is most likely getting roughly the same as Young.  Mickey has all the tools to be pretty darn special if the work is put in.

I'm all aboard the Mickey Train.

Kid is strong , athletic , young,  full of energy...... Loves to play FAST .....this is the type of player that will give LeBron trouble in his waning years ......unlimited energy like Mickey .....young guys who don't tire.  We want to speed the game up on LeBron

I think Holmes may be good as Randle too....just was under utilized and unnoticed  in college

I like Mickey (Holmes too).

One thing I notice is what could be some weakness in securing the ball off the boards.  A little like Olynyk.   You always seem to see a lot of ball after he grabs a rebound -- seems loose in his hands (unlike Sullinger, for instance, who seems to swallow the ball when he gets hold of it).
