  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
This is what happens with athletic bigs, he has a 37" vertical with long arms.  This enables him to play a lot bigger.  He still needs to gain a lot of strength though.
Agreed, that this fan base is so starved for an athletic big that we are predisposed to loving Mickey.

He was measured at 37' for his vert but his standing reach was much smaller than it should have been given his wingspan. Something tell me he didn't reach his highest in an effort to make his vert looking better. If I had to guess I would say his standing reach is closer to 9 feet and his vert is more like 34'.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Gets off the ground so quickly.  Good iq, works out there. Will run with you in transition.  Very stable 17ft jump shot.

Missing from the video of Mickey's highlights last night is when Mickey raced down the court and stuffed a Philly player that thought they had an easy layup.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
What I love about Mickey aside from athleticism is his desire. He's just going after every shot, every rebound, everything. That translates to the NBA.

I really wish he's 6'11". Can we feed him calcium pills, maybe he'll grow? He be amazing if he's got real Center size.

We DID need a shot blocker and we found one.

Mickey through 5 SL games:

27.2 MPG
12 ppg
7.2 rpg
1.0 spg
2.6 bpg
53.19% fg
71.42% ft

He won't put up those numbers in the nba this year but he could easily average 1bpg in limited minutes assuming KO or Sully are moved.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Mickey is going to turn out to be a steal.

This kid has such good instincts for blocking shots. You can tell he tries to get it towards a teammate when he knows he has it too. Probably won't be taking down many centers in the league but excited to see how his defense translates to better competition in the regular season, along with the rest of his game.

And he rarely bites on fakes. He rarely gets burnt by the man he is covering before helping out to block the shot

This is where his adv of being an explosive leaper from standstill really stands out

A leaper does not have to jump before the fakes, they can go up and get the ball after it leaves the hand of the shooter.  This results in less fouls, too

Already miles ahead of Oly in offensive aggression (w/o the 3 range  yet) and twice the defender the Sully will ever hope to be...

Name all the good true centers in today's NBA.... especially ones who will be relevant  3/4 years from now?
