I find it weird that OKC would match almost makes one wonder if they like him better than Adams.

Why is it weird?  Most teams like having multiple bigs who they think are good.

Not matching only benefits ownership's pockets since OKC was capped out even without Kanter. This season isn't the time to worry about the bottomline.

I'm disappointed. I view Portland as one of the teams that could challenge Brooklyn for a spot at/near the bottom. Anything that makes Portland better would be good for us.

I just realized Kanter is making more money than Harden is this upcoming season.

The Oklahoma City Thunder everyone! *claps*

They just did. Which was, by far, the smartest thing to do with him, but I suspect that point will continue to fly over the heads of people who instead will reach for the low-hanging fruit of "BUT HIS DEFENSE IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE LOL TAX FOR KANTER BUT NOT HARDEN LOL LAY-UP LINES ALL DAY LOL."

I don't get why everyone keeps comparing the situations, either. I'm sure if the cap was set to explode when the Harden thing was going on, they would've kept him. They'll pay tax this season, but they'll be able to avoid the repeater tax.

Case in point, see above.

You know the weird thing with Harden is the Thunder only offered him 4.5 million less total than the Rockets or basically 1.25 million a year.  It really was a weird move by them.
