Sounds like he just got a max deal. 4 years, 70 mil. Anyone else find it odd that OKC ie willing to match that and not something similar for Harden a few years ago?
Whatever one thinks about the Perkins/Green trade that ended our starting 5's run, it completely killed OKC's title aspirations b/c the absurd contract they gave Perk made the Harden trade happen.

Lol, okay.

Enes Kanter gets a max?

If Kanter gets the max I think we can generally eliminate them from any real contention.

A Kanter/Nowitzki sign and trade makes sense to me.  Dallas gets a young building block for the future.  OKC gets a guy who could help them win a title.

No Scott Brooks inability to properly manage lineups is what caused that Green trade and ultimately what caused Harden to leave.  Brooks just didn't know what to do with his roster and it killed the team.

... because they'll be paying the tax for one season? Would they be okay if they paid him $15 million a year instead of matching a max offer?

Any chance Adams will be made available when they match Kanter's contract?

He did crush for 26 games last season in Oklahoma...

Still... I never in a million years would have guessed Kanter would get a bigger deal than Greg Monroe.

No. He's on a rookie contract for another two years. They need his defense.

That, too. Brooks was pretty mediocre and didn't come close to maxing out that team.

They just did. Which was, by far, the smartest thing to do with him, but I suspect that point will continue to fly over the heads of people who instead will reach for the low-hanging fruit of "BUT HIS DEFENSE IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE LOL TAX FOR KANTER BUT NOT HARDEN LOL LAY-UP LINES ALL DAY LOL."

I don't get why everyone keeps comparing the situations, either. I'm sure if the cap was set to explode when the Harden thing was going on, they would've kept him. They'll pay tax this season, but they'll be able to avoid the repeater tax.

His defense is awful.

His and Reggie Jackson's contracts are the worst of free agency.
