There are some real tanktastic teams out there.  Even if the Mavs try to tank, there is no guarantee they get bottom 7.

DeAndre Jordan has indicated to the Clippers he intends to play for them next season, but their team representatives are not leaving Jordan until he signs and may remain there at midnight, according to ESPN.com.

Great news for us and Pierce, Mavs should be in the lotto and we get to see some more clutch play from the captain.

This Dallas pick is looking really good!  Hopefully we don't use it on another guard.

I think we are set for guards now, could probably use another PF though

So what is better for us??
With DA and Wes we get a pick that I guess would be somewhere in the 20~, with a slight chance of lottery maybe? Wes is coming out of injury, and Dirk getting old.
But with no DA or WES, is Cuban going to tank Philly style to make sure he doesn’t lose his pick?

They almost have to. THere are no plan B's available for the roster this year in free agency, they dont have many tradeable assets, and they have to save face from the ROndo deal. They would be super motivated to tank.

It would be interesting to see what "tanking" entails. Dirk and Chandler won't necessarily bench themselves. They care about their legacies and their next contracts (respectively). It is easier for a team like Philly to tank because there is no one especially good on the roster (yet). That's less the case for Dallas.

A Dirk "injury" a la David Robinson in 98?

Do you mean a broken foot?

Well there are theories that the Spurs were holding him out at the beginning of the season when he could have played through the back issues (he did the rest of his career). And he also could have come back at the end of the year after the foot.

Im not saying they did anything wrong. Just like it wouldnt be a bad move for Dirk to play minimally this year, and it wasnt wrong for Melo to do the same this past year. Play it by ear by all means, but they should be trying to avoid giving the Celtics their pick at all costs unless they get some major roster upgrades somehow.

If he leaves and the macs decide to blow it up I would assume Parsons would be on the block.

What would it take to land him/ should we pursue it.

Also it's crazy how former celtics have completely ruined the mavs. Rondo destroys ther season this year then pierce and rivers come together to help ruin their offseason

This whole thing is absurd.

Serious question: is Deandre Jordan a child?

I laughed at the fact that Chris Paul was emotional. But to answer your question, I'm beginning to believe so. He's like Dwight: Indecisive.

I mean, he's the king of flopping, which is essentially acting. Why does it surprise you that he can fake emotions?  ;D

I want our pick to be good and that's most important but this is shady as hell and it makes me not like him any longer. I know how I feel doesn't matter but you should keep your word.

Plus, I think he's being stupid, it took you leaving for them to make you feel like you are important? In other words, all they care about is what you can do for them on the court, they don't care about what's best for you. If they had a chance at someone else they wouldn't care about you! You are all they have so they say anything/everything they think you want hear to get you to stay. People who truly care about you/your importance, don't wait until you leave to make you feel like they do.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Same here. This is just a horrible look for the NBA, and it really brings into question DJ's character.

Breaking right now: Jeremy Lin signs with the Charlotte Hornets!  That will weigh on DeAndre and hurt the Mavs either way.

Now how crazy would this be if this happened next?

Speculation rising amongst NBA executives that Pacers will approach Mavs about a Roy Hibbert trade if DeAndre Jordan opts to re-sign w/ LAC.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Even more good news. Wes Matthews will still sign with the Mavs, making it harder for the team to tank next year.

Maybe the Mavs try to revive the Hibbert trade talks before that trade is finalized?

He'll probably get them just enough wins for the 8 seed before he gets injured again
