Also, all of the talk about the Mavs tanking or reneging on Matthews is unfounded. Cuban said he'd tank if he got shut out completely in free agency, i.e. no Matthews OR Jordan. He never said signing Matthews was contingent on DeAndre.
Wes tweeted if Dj is gone, I am gone. So I could see Matthews backing out if Jordan leaves. If Wes and Jordan leave they did completely strike out in free agency.
you got a source for this??

and if Matthews and DJ both leave that's GREAT for the pick! Danny is licking his chops like a hungry kid at the Golden Corral.

So what is better for us??
With DA and Wes we get a pick that I guess would be somewhere in the 20~, with a slight chance of lottery maybe? Wes is coming out of injury, and Dirk getting old.
But with no DA or WES, is Cuban going to tank Philly style to make sure he doesn’t lose his pick?

Quote
Jordan's previous concerns about Clips

Before deciding to join the Mavericks last week, DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin spoke several times. Sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne that Jordan was concerned about Griffin being traded. He was also worried about whether Griffin intended to stay with the Clippers after 2017, when both Griffin and Chris Paul can become free agents.

There's no check mark by that tweet (that's how you know it's fake) and supposedly that's not Twitter's font. They probably just did a quick photoshop.

Yeah it's been confirmed that it was a fake. Good photoshop job though.

The check mark goes by the persons name on their profile not next to each tweet.

If you look at his profile it doesn't have the check mark next to every tweet only next to his name on the far left. If you can't see it I took a screen shot to prove it.

They almost have to. THere are no plan B's available for the roster this year in free agency, they dont have many tradeable assets, and they have to save face from the ROndo deal. They would be super motivated to tank.

If Deandre jordan backs out of this deal he immediately becomes my least favorite player in the NBA and I really dont like a lot of players.

You know a lot of NBA players and they've personally proven to be unlikeable?
are you telling me you dont have players that you like vs. dislike?

It makes the game a lot more fun to have guys like that.

There's players I root for and players I root against, but it's based on aesthetics (I "hate" Evan Turner because he makes basketball look ugly as eff, for example) and other on-the-court stuff. I take very little stock in the PR wing of the NBA.
for me agreeing to a contract and then going back on it is a pretty scummy and cowardly thing to do. For that reason I will root against him.

Another scumbag move was when Boozer SCREWED the Cavs.

Boozer's was a hundred times worse.  He was restricted I believe and worked out an agreement to enter a new contract instead of extending his current one.  In order to do this the Cavs had to release him from the current contract.  They did so in what seemed like a formality and then he went off and signed with another team.  Boozer's was outright deception.  Jordan just seems wishy washy.

Boozer's was a little more complicated than that.  He has a Chandler Parsons like deal, that had a team option that was really cheap.  The team declined the optiin so that he could enter restricted free agency.  The Cavs said they had an agreement on a new contract -- of course, agreeing on the contract before declining Boozer's option would be against the CBA, so it's unclear how much of an agreement they had. Boozer, obviously, said they had agreed to nothing.  Utah offered something that reportedly beat the Cavs offer by 50%, so Boozer accepted that offer.  Of course, the Cavs could have matched the offer sheet if they wanted, since he was a restricted free agent.

The Cavs had some kind of agreement with Boozer for a longer term deal...otherwise they wouldn't have let him out of the low money team option year.
The deal Boozer signed with Utah was a 'poison pill'.  The Cavs couldn't have matched it if they wanted to because they didn't have the cap space.
In any event, it was shady.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

I was just reading the protections on the Dallas pick.  It's top 7 protected every year though 2020 then becomes unprotected in 2021.  So it's not the end of the world if we don't get their pick this year.  It might work out better if we get it in 2017 when the draft might be better, and we only have 1 first round pick then at the moment.
