Three guards and a super undersized power forward.

Awesome.

Mickey isn't super undersized. I'm sorry Danny didn't do what you wanted him too.

There has to be a trade, they just drafted another 2 guard.

Where are they going to play? No...there has to be a trade coming, or planned.

They now have Smart, Bradley, Young, and Hunter as shooting guards, don't forget Turner is a guard too.

Rosier, IT, and Smart as PG's

Another shoe has to drop.
A 2 guard at the end of the first round? No guaranteed minutes there. I can't question a pick based on need that late in the draft. The earlier pick though is a different question, especially with Smart and IT expected to get all the PG minutes.

He'll fail this summer too.

His assets are all talk and not lottery substance .

He ll fail to get any free agents with serious talent

No center once again.  Only scrub role players .

We don't have a snow balls chance in hades of getting decent talent upgrade.

We re screwed.

New GM please.

I don't get why there is so much anger. Picking that late in the draft you're just hoping to get anybody competent, forget about need or positional redundancy. It's not like anybody on the roster now is a world beater who couldn't be replaced anyway.

People who wanted to go for the playoffs can't complain now that Danny couldn't do anything to move up. The 16th and 28th picks combined don't have a lot of value. They're stuck on the treadmill because they're in the East and because Stevens has them playing better than their individual talent level.

It's only medocrity if you don't have flexibility. Maybe the teams asked too much for Danny's taste. Maybe they fell in love with a player to the point they rejected offers. I have no regrets making the playoffs.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Continue to be blind on how the NBA works. If you think for a second Boston could have traded for a high pick your nuts.

There are few Stars in any draft. You think a team is going to trade back and miss out on possibly drafting the next Curry or Lebron.

I will say this, there is enough cap room to sign 2 max free agents. If Ainge doesn't sign 2 top tier players, then I'll be on board with finding another GM.
That is the only way this team gets good.

What top tier free agents are going to sign here? Lol. The draft is our chance and we can't even tank right!!

Yeah I just don't think the Celtics' current assets have as much value around the league as some fans think.

Yeah, I'm sorry he didn't do anything tonight to improve the team's circumstances.  Bad outcome for draft night.

Look, taking the best player available is fine, but there's so much redundancy on this roster it's hard to see how any of these guys gets playing time.  So what's the point?

Plus, if you think Rozier is great, trade back ten spots and take him in the twenties.

I'm just not very confident the Celts added any NBA rotation players with their FOUR draft picks tonight.  That's rough.

It's not some fans is what experts are saying as well. However It takes two to tango and the asking price was probably too much for Danny.

The Celts have a bunch of assets, but in trades they're like the shady dude in an alley with a trench coat full of imitation Rolexes.  Come on, this is a great deal!  This'll look great on you!  100% genuine!

Rozier is from Cleveland. Theres a chance Cavs would have picked him right after us. Notice how Cleveland traded down after that.

The Celtics needed talent. When he couldn't trade up, Danny took the BPA. Unless you wanted to be satisfied with Sam Dekker, I don't what you wanted him to do under the circumstances.

Sam Dekker might have had a shot at playing time.  The Celts have horrible wing depth.

It's hard to make something of that BPA you just took if he's gonna spend the year in Maine before taking over Phil Presseys spot a year from now.

Portis or RHJ would've been much more interesting to me.  Even Tyus Jones, if you're gonna take a PG.  I guess I'm just extremely skeptical that Rozier could have possibly been such a clear cut above the other guys available at that spot.

Danny has a tendency to draft the same kinds of guys year after year.  He has a good eye for certain types of players, not so much for others.  I have a feeling he felt the options weren't great at that point in the draft -- which is why he tried to trade up -- and when he couldn't trade up, he selected another version of the type of player he feels confident he can scout.  Even though this team has no need whatsoever for that skillset.
