between our backup point guard, Robin Lopez and 48 year old Paul Piece (who we don't even have on our roster), I don't know how Kevin Love could possibly say no.

Considers Marcus Smart a backup point guard, yet is practically giddy at the thought of trading for Anthony Bennett.

Mike

He's pretty giddy about most non-Celtics.

Your defense mechanism to prevent getting your hopes dashed is really raining all over my parade.

He's kind of right though don't ya think. They can't go to Love with that garabage. They're better off telling him to sign with the team they have and try to convince him that they have enough assets to build a team. Robin Lopez played on the Blazers with Aldridge and Lillard. I wouldn't consider them a true championship contender. And we don't even have someone of Lillard's capability on this team.

It does seem overly negative to not at least yourself be happy for a day about seeing Paul Pierce in Green for another year (however remote the idea is). Even if we were another 40 win team, having him around Young, Smart and others for a year would definitely seem to have value. If Paul Pierce wants to do that how can you be against it or down on the idea.

Honestly the lure of the Celtics for Love has to be that he can be the man here. If he is looking to be on an elite team where he continues to take a back seat then he will stay on the cavs.

Those 3 guys would probably win the C's the atlantic division next year. While we would still have all our picks to build a contender around him in the future.

Imo if he leaves it will be because he doesn't see him reaching his personal potential on the Cavs. We have the coach and the assets to make him the face of the team then build around him.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Woj is getting fed garbage . love is staying with the cavs. If he won a ring, there would of been a better chance he left

When did you speak to him?
Did you get his number from Jordan Mickey?

:p

Yeah.  You should call him also lol

If you think Love is coming to Boston you will be disappointed.  Cavs gave up a ton for Love and made sure got a commitment from him (though informal) around when the trade occured

Love wants to win or"Lebron" it for a ring. He has no interest to do what he did with the Wolves. Hence the garbage woj is putting out. Woj putting up alot of extra nonsense as of late

Gotta love this time of year in the NBA! It's legit the one sport sport where mega stars legit move and transform the landscape of the league.

As for this rumor, I usually tend to take these with a grain a salt. BUT..it is Woj saying this. Not saying this guy is always right but i think his tweets/info carry a certain credence that other writers' do not. I think when he speaks, it usually carries some weight.

I like Love. I think he would be a really good fit into CBS' system and I think the C's would be able to utilize him way better than the Cavs did last year. And the best part is, you don't lose any of your assets as all it would entail is a financial commitment for a 25 year old All Star PF. Then you have a treasure chest of picks and other young players to deal for whatever else you can get.

That doesn't strike me as a particularly strong selling point for either of the three guys.

Well, I think Pierce would love to finish his career in Boston if (and only if) he thinks there's a legit shot at contention there.  So adding Love + Lopez + whatever else might be a selling point for him.

Problem is, Pierce would be the least important piece and probably the last one to fall into place.  But if we've gotta sell Love on something, this might be where we'd start.  I think he badly wants to be the #1 guy in a bigger market, but we'll see.

I'm taking Woj's sources over your dismissal of a thoroughly vetted reporter 100 times out of 100.

This reminds me very much so of last year when you had people here calling Jackie Mac delusional, out of touch, a "disrespectful wench," and the like just because they didn't like her report that painted their exalted Rajon Rondo in a less-than-favorable light in regards to his willingness to stay in Boston.

in my opinion if Love signs a long term contract with Cleveland he will be traded between next deadline and the following, lots of the push from Cleveland may be just to not lose him for nothing and at that point love won't be able to control his destiny.  I'd leave or do S&T

Love, Lopez, and Pierce is a pretty sad version of a new Big 3.
 :P

Now, if Danny can get any two of the following, then it will be time to start planning for a playoff run:
Cousins, Aldridge, MGasol, Milsap, Deandre, K Leonard, Butler
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.
