He was doing lines with Upshaw, obviously.

Bam.

AINGE: That's a pretty good Dream shake.

UPSHAW: Told ya.

AINGE: I don't know if it's worth five dollars, but it's pretty good.

After the Upshaw workout:

ZARREN: We happy?

*AINGE stares down at his notes in wide-eyed wonder and disbelief*

ZARREN: DANNY! We happy?

AINGE: Ohhhh, we happy.

Ainge found his solution to tape delayed presentations of teams' war rooms during the draft: yayo. Now he'll look excited all the time.

TP.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

#Celtics president Danny Ainge said it's rare a player truly opens his eyes in pre-draft workout. Asked if it happened this year, said "Yes"

So, let's get the speculation going.  Who opened Danny's eyes, and is this who the Celts will try and move up in the draft to select?

I would have to say Justin Anderson.

Also remember Danny was not able to attend workouts in the beginning.  But his son and CBS probably gushed about a few guys they worked out.  I'm hoping it was Mickey

Yeah, a player projected for the 2nd rd in a draft that is said to lack depth that's who did it.

Good news for you Eddie20.

Mickey is also working out for the #Celtics for the 2nd time tomorrow. C’s own pick No. 28 in #NBADraft, but could be in mix for No. 16

I'd be okay with him at #45, but not at #28. We'll probably trade the latter pick anyways so the point will be moot.

Wait a minute, who tweeted that? Mickey at #28 is a reach, but at #16 is downright insane. It was either a family member, agent, or Triboy.

Eddie20 this your lucky day.  Per the link below Celts might have to take him at 16. I dont care how we get Mickey. Led the sec in double doubles, 2nd in rebounding, 1st in bpg. Would of finished off the year the way he started if it was not for iron deficiency issues(fixed now).

What is legit is he is coming in for a 2nd workout. Only Anderson has worked out twice for the celts i believe. And mickey has a promise from a team picking in the 20s

You do the math.

Celts could trade down for mickey also

I would be happy with anderson and mickey if the picks are kept

I read somewhere today that the Celtics were one of three teams trying to trade up for a point guard and Cameron Payne was mentioned as the probable choice.  At that time it didn't make sense to me until the Marcus Smart to Philly rumor surfaced.

Thus, based on rumor and innuendo I am guessing Payne (though honestly I don't know if we worked him out)

It is possible that the Celtics have found out that the best players are the ones that can deliver results within the team culture - those are the best players.

There are players who buy into the team culture, but can't deliver results - these guys are expendable.

Also, there are players who can deliver results, but not within the team culture - second best but need to leave.

Finally, there are players who cannot deliver results and are not within the team culture - don't even go there.

The question should be, which quadrant would each draft pick fit in?
Everyone wants truth on his side, not everyone wants to be on the side of truth.

Read the link I posted. He said he has a promise.

You're quoting something called "Tiger Rag"?

I hate to break it to you, but if he had a promise in the "late in the first round" as the great Tiger Rag reported, then he wouldn't be working out for the C's. Unless he really think they'll take him at 16, which is delusional.

I think you guys are way off here. He opened his eyes and we are trying to move up in the draft. That tells me there is a lottery pick he thinks can be special. To the point he may have tried for the third pick held by Philly, IMO its a top 5 pick that he's talking about.

Justin Anderson is an DA type.

Kid has the correct work ethic , not a quitter ,  not afraid to work hard , good up bringing .   Solid Celtic type player .    He won't get fat .  Like Smart ...it's 100% full bore or nothing.

The super stud version of Anderson is Winslow .   All the Above with turbo charged leaping ability and LeBron like strength and structure.

So you know Danny is crazy about Winslow .    Winslow is part of some bodies future title team

100% agree,

My favorite players in this draft are Justice Winslow, WCS , Russell , Justin Anderson in that order. Everyone else I just like. Those three players I can see being on a championship team and being Major contributors. Not huge on Towns , Okafor, Mudiay etc. Towns is super athletic and I believe can be a Anthony Davis type, but I would put money in the bank that Winslow will be a superstar before him or win a Title before him. Okafor I see al Jefferson all over him, great scorer down low, liability defensively, will be in the league along time.

If celtics get one of Winslow, Russell, WCS, Justin Anderson. I will be ecstatic. Wish we could get two of the 4 and I could see us being a OKC East. All is for nothing though because I can only imagine what Danny Ainge is thinking of/ talking about doing.

In Danny We Trust.
Get'er Done.

Far and away better than both. How can you group them together? Portis is going in the teens, Harrell in the 20's, and Mickey in the 30's or 40's.
