Working to confirm the two additional players Boston offered Sixers for Nerlens Noel and No. 3 in addition to Marcus Smart and No. 16.
my guess is one has to be Sullinger or Olynyk.  I would guess the other is Young.

Smart, Young, Sullinger, 16 for Noel, 3

That seems like the type of offer Ainge would make.  Not totally out of whack, but not surprised Philly didn't take it.

Wait I'm confused this was the original offer or a new offer?

So the original offer (as reported) was "Smart and the Nos. 16 and 28 picks in the first round to Philadelphia for center/forward Nerlens Noel and the No. 3 pick."

Someone in a different thread said yesterday that the Kings (allegedly) are looking for picks and players, and that "Sully Noel #3 and a single Brooklyn first" would get a deal for Cousins done, and if Ainge is looking to pick up DMC I assume Sully wouldn't be included in that deal (to the Sixers).

EDIT:
Olynyk was the other player apparently.
Makes sense to me.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

So Celtics trade offer was: Marcus Smart, Kelly Olynyk, No. 16, with no specific third player to Sixers for Nerlens Noel and No. 3.

I have to think this is just expanding on the original deal.  The first reported deal would've been close to highway robbery from the Celtics end.  This deal involving KO/someone in addition to the originally reported parts sounds more in line with a more sane trade offer.

That sounds much more feasible than what was reported yesterday.  Makes more sense.

Celtics-Sixers proposal for Noel and No. 3, never advanced past preliminary talks, I'm told. Sixers were not interested from the beginning.

Of course they weren't interested..lol

Smart, Olynyk, Gerald Wallace's contract, and two mediocre first rounders for Noel and the third pick.

I really feel bad if Russell gets stuck on the Sixers. That franchise is trash. They are showing no signs at improving and they are going to ruin that kid.

what do you mean no progress?  They haven't done anything in awhile, but this looks like it could be a pretty darn good team in a couple of seasons and all they have to do is keep everyone they currently have on the roster (assuming they draft Russell).  That doesn't even account for their wide stash of future draft picks and cap room they could still easily use.

PG - Russell, Smith, Canaan
SG - Thompson, Wroten
SF - Saric, Covington, Sampson, G. Robinson, Grant
PF - Noel, T. Robinson, Aldemir
C - Embiid, Sims

They still have their own pick, the Lakers pick, and the Heat pick next year and a ton of cap room.  Seems like the makings of a potential dynasty if they can get Embiid healthy and Russell is as good as advertised.

Seems like KO is definitely available.

I'd question Ainge's sanity if both Sullinger and Olynyk weren't available.

Lol how are they keeping all of them? If they turn out as good as projected, their pay scale is going to be very high. Then you factor in them all leaving because they are tired of losing. Philly will need to start putting out a team that can win games in a couple years because people are going to want out.  W/e happens, it should be interesting.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I think we're actively looking for takers on both KO and Sullinger, though Danny may prefer to keep one of them (probably whichever one draws less interest).  But keeping both is probably not sustainable.

EDIT: Looks like the multi-layered rumor has us trying to move both of them to get Cousins here.  That'd work too.

I'd take Cousins I guess. If that falls through, let's move both and draft a couple of the bigs in this draft like WCS and Turner..

Um, plenty of teams have 3 max or near max players, which is what you would project from that team with Russell, Noel, and Embiid.  Saric is probably a 8-10 million dollar player if he maxes out his potential.  Rest of those guys are solid role players that will be on reasonable contracts.  It isn't that hard for Philly to keep the band together if they are worth keeping together.
