It is possible that the Celtics have found out that the best players are the ones that can deliver results within the team culture - those are the best players.

There are players who buy into the team culture, but can't deliver results - these guys are expendable.

Also, there are players who can deliver results, but not in the team culture - second best but need to leave.

Finally, there are players who cannot deliver results and are not in the team culture-don't even go there.

The question should be, which quadrant would Upshaw fit in?

If it looks like the C's are going back to war with Zeller and no backup, I'm all for taking a shot with Upshaw.

We have many picks as an organization in the near future, we can take a gamble, with a possible upside that can give the team something it desperately needs.

If people want a shot blocker who doesn't do anything but get blocks and dunk why not draft Rakeem Christmas in the second round?

Upshaw has legit problems and couldn't even handle the stress of college basketball... Why would anyone think he's got the wiring to handle the pressure that comes with being a professional?
