I actually had to finally make a username for this site to post this because I am just sick of reading it: please, PLEASE, stop throwing out the fantasy that the Celtics are just going to sign ANY top free agent. The only thing we are going to be able to do with cap space is overpay for guys to play here. never in the history of the league has Boston signed a high impact free agent.
These guys are all multi-millionaires that have been catered to their entire lives, in what world would someone like that CHOOSE to live in a city with miserable winters and a non-party-town-reputation such as Boston? Personally, obviously, I love the city and the franchise, but facts are facts, it's just not a desirable destination, especially as a rebuilding/retooling franchise, and especially for young guys in their prime. I can't believe some of you are making me paraphrase this Judas but: Kevin Love ain't walkin through that door. LaMarcus Aldridge ain't walking through that door. Greg Monroe may but more likely he's just going to use us to leverage all the money he can out of the Knicks. stop it. Danny is the best GM in the league because he has to be creative, but part of the reason he's forced to be creative is because he can't just go out and sign superstars.
We KEEP superstars once they get here. But sign them off the street, is not, and has never been, the Celtic way.
