I would say that aside from a few people that clearly have an issue with him (WOJ), most national writers are pretty easy on Lebron and give him tons of praise. The negative stuff you see is more from bloggers and fans than the national media. The ABC announcer really slobber over him in particular and obviously he has basically a press manager at ESPN (Windhorst). Do you disagree?

If you are a Lebron supporter, you don't have much principles or at the very least you don't value them as high as idolizing a basketball player.

In thrust, though, I agree with you.

Actually you can have a player coach, you simply can't offer him a coaching contract... it needs to be paid off from player contract.

Not sure if anything has changed on that regard, but technically you can have a player that coaches, you just can't pay him for his coaching duties, and if it's paid for that, it's considered as part of the player portion of the contract.

Which makes him a "floor general." 

 I know this came up a bit when Kidd was making the jump to coaching.

I don't think this is true for Lebron, but I do think it could be fair in other situations (just to play devils advocate). For example, if someone was wearing an Aaron Hernandez journey and saying he was the greatest tight end the patriots ever had, it would impact my judgement of them and their values. Lebron has not committed any crimes or done anything that really even shows dubious morals so I don't understand the points in this case.

A lot of great players have humiliated coaches. Magic got Westhead canned. Jordan sacked Collins. What coach has Kobe respected outside of Phil? Elway and Dan Reeves. Need I go on?

Fact is there are only a few coaches that can earn the respect of professional superstars and they stick around a long time and are paid a lot of money for that ability. There are plenty of good coaches out there that can't handle superstars. Those are the guys who end up as assistants or go back to college where coaches are the featured attraction. Doc Rivers is certainly no coaching mastermind (albeit underrated) but his players like him and thus he's one of the most highly-paid coaches in the league..

Sure, Lebron is a bit egotistical and narcissistic, but so are most people who are really good at what they do. Doesn't make them bad people, or role models. It's just a game, there are way more important things in life that we should judge a person's character by.

He is a vehicle used to get ratings for ABC , pure and simple.
I agree that he gets a pretty good deal for the most part.
In the heat of battle emotions get tested, I remember Jordan changing plays back in his Day, The 'Shot' against the Cavs in 89 a classic example.
Have to question Stein's motivation besides clicks on this one.
