He is an asset for them. An underutilized asset.

This is basically the perfect description of Green's career.

Who's underutilizing the assets, though?  Seems like Jeff Green is the guy who has most egregiously underutilized his own assets.

Make up your mind - is Green doing the underutilizing, or is Who?  Personally I think Who just wrote the post, but I don't know.

Jeff Green is a perfectly average NBA player. Nothing wrong with that, but I always found it a bit silly when Celtics fans insisted that he was simply not being used properly and that was somehow an indictment on his teams and coaches. The guy is 29 years old and is being used exactly as he should be: as a role player.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.

But some days he can lead a team. He has made some clutch shot at the buzzer too. Hopefully he will do a couple in the playoff next year for them.

"Jeff Green can show up sometimes" doesn't disprove my point about him being a role playing, average NBA player. Shaun Livingston, Harrison Barnes, and David Lee all had some big moments in the playoffs for the Warriors, but if you're suggesting they're anything more than role players, that's silly.

Kind of sucked?

No, he just sucked. Plain and simple. Same story, different team.

Jeff Green is an enigma. Some nights hes so good he makes the game look easy. Some nights he shyes away from almost every play. Some nights he can lead a team. Some nights he looks content being an 8th or 9th man. Some nights he craves the ball at the end of the game. Some nights he doesnt want the ball anywhere near him in the 4th quarter.

With that said ive always liked JG and respect the hell out of him for coming back after a near career ending heart ailment. It take guts for him to suit up every night. Im glad he found a situation like Memphis where all he has the do is be the 4th or 5th best player because i really thought he resented the pressure of trying to be the best player on the Celtics. Hes in his prime now so i hope he turns things around in MEM and has a great 15-16 season.

I wonder if teams are starting to get skeptical about trading with us since Danny has fleeced the last 6 teams or so  ;D

Green had a terrible post season but his regular season was pretty much what he does and has done every year in the league.
