Not a surprise if you watched him on the Grizzlies, especially during the playoffs.

Makes sense for him.  Perhaps he can earn his way into a larger role on the team next year, or at least do better than he did in the half a season he had this year.

Plus, when the cap goes way up next summer, there will be teams willing to overpay for highlight reel athleticism and generally solid mediocrity.

"... there will be teams willing to overpay for highlight reel athleticism and generally solid mediocrity."

"Generally solid mediocrity" is, quite honestly, one of the more hilarious (yet stunningly accurate) descriptions I've ever heard regarding a player's game. TP

Good news for Memphis. They can get a lot more out of J.Green than they got last season. Need to find a way to better incorporate into their team.

He is an asset for them. An underutilized asset.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Makes sense for Green and Memphis. He is signed for for a reasonable amount - Memphis will be able to make a more informed decision on if he is a part of their future and Green should be able to cash in on a slightly bigger deal.

For all of Green's haters, he has been productive throughout his career. I say it all the time, but he is pretty locked in as the 6th best player from his respective draft (depending on how you feel about Thad Young). Just because he never 'wowed' like he was supposed doesn't mean he was a disappointment. For his (and Memphis') sake, I hope he continues to produce. As a bonus, he has always been a good guy, too.

If they didn't know who Green was in OKC

We all surely know by now.

Somehow .....I know he was born with a basketball players dream body and he followed that path

.     But his mind is that of something completely different .,   He is not wired for Competitive sports

He might make a good Minister .

Well-honed over multiple years of picking apart Uncle Jeff's game.  :)

This is basically the perfect description of Green's career.

Who's underutilizing the assets, though?  Seems like Jeff Green is the guy who has most egregiously underutilized his own assets.

He's gambling on being able to get more money by waiting until the big cap spike.  Underwhelming performance in Memphis probably made it a much easier decision.

Good luck to Jeff, he was...well, what he was here, but always seemed like a nice guy, and it's hard not to support someone who came back from a life-threatening heart issue like he did.

Make up your mind - is Green doing the underutilizing, or is Who?  Personally I think Who just wrote the post, but I don't know.
