we're stuck in NBA purgatory, while the lakers stack on talent
at least we have a winning tradition though! tradition of getting swept in the first round and having below .500 record.
We are not stuck anywhere right now. We have a lot of cap space and nearly everyone on our team is young, improving, and tradeable, plus we have a ton of picks coming up and a creative GM and a great young coach.
There are so many different directions this team could go and purgatory is one of them. However, we are not stuck there yet.
Option 1. We convince an elite FA or 2 to sign with us we move the picks to add another piece and we return to contention
Option 2. We sign 1 or 2 young FAs like Harris, Monroe, or Middleton, we make small trades ie one of Sully KO zeller to move up, we continue the rebuild with the hopes of next year being a springboard year
Option 3. We move Smart, Sully, Zeller/KO to move up/around in draft and return to lotto next year with more top 10 talent
Option 4. We stand pat adding a couple ET type pieces and selecting high potential guys in the draft
The list goes on and on. Teams with the type of flexibility we have are never stuck anywhere. We just have to make sure Ainge doesnt waste the flexibility without seeing a big improvement in the product.
