I missed all the fun last night

Here's a couple of notes that u should not care about, but I am writing them anyway.
1. Rusted Rims - Karl-Anthony Towns
Major gamble by an elite team. I like it!!!! I just wish I like Towns a little more.
21. Rusted Rims - Rahsad Vaughn
Crazy upside, but I am not sure how he sees any PT for years.
Thanks mk. What sold me on pushing for the #1 pick was Towns' shooting stroke - he's already an 81% FT shooter and shows every ability to add the NBA 3 to his game in the next couple of seasons. I'm a sucker for bigs that can shoot from deep, as my Ryno/Oly tandem can attest. Combine that with elite shot-blocking ability, which is maybe the hardest stat to get, and I was sold.
I agree 100% with this. I have my share of 3pt shooting bigs, Motiejunas, Harris, Vonleh, Muscala, and
hopefully Zeller at some point.
Then there is
thisVaughn was kind of an impulse pick - I was planning to nab Anderson, and Dino had tipped his hand that RJ Hunter was going #20, so I had to adjust fast when EJA traded up to take him. Wound up between him and Wright and decided to go with the higher upside and shallower position (league-wide). My mostly after-the-fact rationale is that Kidd desperately wants 3 point shooting around Monroe, and outside of Middleton there isn't really any reliable source. Plus Mayo's days are clearly numbered. That alone might get him some PT if he can not be too lousy in other areas. But realistically he's probably a year away. Optimistic he'll develop into a reasonably efficient volume shooter/scorer before long though.
Vaughn is soooooo young and talented. He may not get PT right away, but he's high lottery talent. If you are going to draft a project, it's best to gamble on a guy with a sky-high ceiling like Vaughn.
I really liked your Mudiay pick BTW - I gave him some serious thought at #1 but preferred the big man. But he'll have every opportunity in Denver, and it wouldn't surprise me if he outperformed Towns in Year 1.
Thanks, I agree with your thoughts on Mudiay. I gave up a lot to get him, but IMO his ceiling is higher. It just may take a while time to get there. Plus, moving a big for a PG rebalanced my roster a bit.
Shameless pimp'n
ALERT!!!In the deal for Mudiay (#3 pick), I also net'd Plumlee who, from all that I read, is expected to start at C for Portland. I have him projected to average similar #s to what he did as a starter for the Nets: 27mins, 12pts, 9rebs, 1blk per game.
All of the main POR bigs & SFs: Plumlee, Vonleh, Meyers "Leonard Meyers" Leonard, Ed Davis, Aminu, and Harkless should average 23-28 minutes regardless of role. I am super intrigued to watch how things fall out there. They are going to be a fun team to watch.

Another shameless pimp'n
ALERT!!!P.S. The Utah Flash are also excited to welcome back their 2014 first round draft pick James Young. There's not a lot of luv for James around Celtics nation, but we still believe in him
