http://www.lakersnation.com/lakers-rumors-rajon-rondo-mortal-lock-to-sign-with-los-angeles/2015/04/03/

Quote
According to ESPN?s Max Kellerman, Rondo will be signing with the Lakers this summer. Kellerman bases his information from a trusted source and broke the news on his radio show Max & Marcellus on 710 ESPN saying the following:

?As I heard from people who would know told me a couple months ago that [Rajon] Rondo is mortal, about a month ago, that Rondo is a mortal lock to sign with the Lakers.?

Kellerman went on to elaborate a bit on his comments and the source in which he heard it from, via 710 ESPN:

?Marcellus, when I first heard that Rondo was coming to L.A., which he is, it was about a month ago and a friend of mine who knows, who is in the business, said it is a mortal lock that the Lakers will sign Rajon Rondo. I?m not going to mention his name, but it is a very reliable source who has his ear to the ground.?

Would it bother you?  A back court of Rondo + Kobe... Julius Randle + whoever they take top 5... should still have enough cap space to sign Kevin Love as well.

I'll be a little annoyed by it.

Well, I doubt he wants to stay with the Mavs as currently constructed. If Monta won't be going, then there is really no point in him staying there.

About a week ago, Rondo looked like the floor general of old when Monta was out. Now he's back to scoring 4 points and standing in a corner.

I'd be a little annoyed about it because you'd probably start a few threads about how he "isn't a true Celtic" and "would've left anyway" when, in reality, I don't really prioritize Rajon Rondo that much anymore.

You were right about his athletic decline, I will and have admitted it, but you're one of the only people that is bringing him up anymore.

As far as basketball, I wouldn't be too perturbed. When Rondo retires I think less than half of his career will have been spent with the Celtics. Good memories and maybe some weird feelings when we play against him, but overall nothing too strong.

I wouldn't be annoyed at all. A line-up of Rondo (not the same player he once was), Kobe (with all his injuries and age), Randle (coming off a serious injury) and the spanners that fill the roster would be horrid. I would hope that Kobe would still carry them to just outside the playoffs so that they can't rebuild :-)

Not particularly, he's not like PP or KG and rn the rivalry isn't tense so it doesn't have the Ray Allen backstabbing vibe and in terms of a rondo Kobe randle love lineup that's not frightening to me at all. None of them play d Kobe's body is breaking down rondo is such a mixed bag and randle has literally done nothing in the NBA he could be great or awful who knows? Is lean towards very good but you can't know.

Yes, I would be a little annoyed, but we traded him in the first place so we don't really have the right to be mad.

I don't imagine they would be contenders unless they got an amazing player to go along with Kobe, Rondo, and company so it may hold the Lakers down...

With Dirk retiring ,  I suspect Rondo might bolt .....Parsons is their only future, Chandler is getting miles .

They be rebuilding.

Lakers could throw together a team to compete pretty quick ....yeah I know they don't have a coach , but they are the trillion dollar Lakers .....they buy what they need to support their fan base.and TV contracts.

I think there is a 50 -50 chance he winds up there.

I think it'd be pretty funny watching Rondo and Kobe blame each other all season:

Rondo: "Man I hit you in stride for that dunk. You would have thrown it down three years ago...you're old, man."

Kobe: "Well, three years ago you would have had 12 assists and 9 rebounds by now, and not let your man beat you off the dribble six straight times...you're old, man."

I'm a big Rondo fan, but I've moved on.  He should be able to sign wherever he wants without me caring.  If it's LA, then it's LA.

From a roster perspective, as in "afraid" he'd make the Lakers better, I find it irrelevant. As much as I liked Rondo here, even as I complained about many of his flaws throughout the years, he's no longer that much of a player... and if he gets PAID like he wants to get PAID, then even better.

From a Celtics fan perspective, I'd be incredibly angry at it. He would be the 2nd player of main contributors of our latest Championship run that I'd have to write-off completely... tarnishing my memories from a championship run. But not really at the level of Ray Allen who did a complete BS move towards us, but it would be a real shame to see a Celtic go voluntarily to play with the Lakers.

The only player I'd forgive if he wanted to play there would be Paul Pierce, he would've earned it, as much as it would hurt to see him in Lakers gold and purple.

If the Lakers offer him way more money than anybody else, then you have to accept it as a business decision; however, if he takes less money to sign with LA, then I will be pretty disappointed in him (but still hold him in higher regard than Allen, for sure).
