Dekker, but only if we have scored a big first.  If not, that's #1 and I'm willing to move picks to do it.

It will be interesting to see Dekker vs Winslow in the final. Great litmus test for Dekker.

Great point, couldn't really ask for a better representative sample of an NBA than Winslow. Hope Dekker holds his own. Apparently he tore up the Lebron James camp last summer so you'd imagine he can hang with athletes.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Kaminsky and it's not even close.
Dekker is a byproduct of Kaminsky being double teamed all game and a college team that creates switches.
NBA athletes will destroy him. He struggles to finish under contact on Switches with Booker and the Harrison boys. How's he going to go when he switches and is guarded by iguadala or Jared Dudleys.
Fools gold.

Why are the two your only choices? I believe Myles Turner and Devin Booker are better fits for CBS than Dekker is. Maybe even Stanley Johson and WCS if they fall.

Dekker will be a better role player than Kaminsky. Unless you think Kaminsky will be a superstar, Dekker will adapt better to the NBA system and you choose the better role player out of the two which I think is Dekker as he can play the 3. Kaminsky will be a Troy Murphy if he doesn't become a star and he is unlikely to be one (according to scouts at least who don't even have him in the lottery). If you think Dekker will be eaten alive by wing defenders, Kaminsky will be crushed on offense and defense by Davis, Aldridge, Horford, etc. If he moves to the 3, wings will blow by him easily. Dekker at least has the lateral speed that Frank doesn't have.

Kaminsky's stock just went up. He just put up very solid numbers against a NBA caliber front line. Yes, he's not the most athletic, but showed he's got the skills to play against bigger more athletic guys.

Big fan of Dekker. I think you gotta draft Dekker with that Clips pick, if he's still there. If not, I'd be happy with Kaminsky.

People really want to add Kaminsky to this team as if the Celtics already don't have more than enough "fundamentally sound" poor athletes?

Dekker was a better sophomore player than Kaminsky but hasn't improved a lot as a junior.  Kaminsky has shown major improvement every single year in college and just won the Wooden award.  It honestly looks like his floor is a better version of KO.

I can't predict what will happen with Dekker but I'd bet money that it Kaminsky lasts until the 15th pick or so, he will turn out to be a better NBA player than at least 5 or 6 of the guys picked ahead of him.

I think KO is a better comparison for Kaminsky.  3 point range, can put the ball on the floor.  Frank the tank might have a better low post game.  Neither can defend the post.

If we're picking around 15, put me down for Dekker.  If we're picking around 10, I think we can do better than either.  Should be good matchups against Duke, Kaminsky/Okafor and Dekker/Winslow.

Kamkinsky seems stronger and a better post player than either Zeller or KO.

If we can somehow sneak into the top 5 and have our draft choice.

Smart
Young
Winslow
Kelly
Kaminsky

Is a very interesting team in CBS system. Again no Rim protector, but do you not see the length and shooting on that team? I would choose Kaminsky every day of the week over dekker because we need an all around SF not just a shooter. A combo of Kaminsky and Olynyk is probably the softest front court in the league, but I do not see any big man combo in the league defending us having them two at the three point line and a SF who can take it the rim.

I don't want either of them.

You saved me the time to post the same thing. TP.

I don't think either of these guys will be anything special in the NBA. I think that Kaminsky is going to really struggle.  Last year I thought he might be an upgrade over KO, but now I feel that KO, despite his problems this year (which I feel are mostly mental), is better suited for the NBA, as he can create stuff off the dribble. When Kaminsky dribbles, it is a train to nowhere.

Dekker just strikes me as someone who is suited to dominate smaller guys in college but will get marginalized in the NBA.

Celtics need athleticism.  Guys like Okafor and Towns won't be available, no matter how many picks and players we offer.  But maybe a guy like Porzingis, who is very athletic, albeit thin as a rail, would be.  He reminds me of a young Kevin Garnett the way he can create space for his jumper with high release.  He is very athletic.  That is who I hope we target.

My biggest fear is that the Sixers will grab him in the draft.  They won't pick Towns or Okafor, so I see them drafting Porzingis. Especially if they can stash him away for a year or two.

Let's face it folks: The Sixers in about 3-4 years, are going to be the team to beat in the East.  Maybe in the league.

Funny every blog that has teams near our record , Heat , Hornets etc .......they all are saying draft the same two guys .....bunch of college kids all dreaming about the big GIFT.

iF the Celtics get somebody star type good , it will be pure luck or DA will gave to trade up with. Some Team for assets......that is if he feels there is somebody worth doing that for.......it's a crap shoot basically.

Tanking a whole season is for idiots .  Phillys GM would be fired if  I owned the team.
