Have you seen Noah play this year?  The answer to that one is a definite yes.  Nurkic, what I've seen has been pretty good.  Didn't Denver say he was the only player for them that was untouchable?  That included Ty Lawson.  So maybe they know something you don't.

Horford I can't really comment on.  I'm not sure what he is like defensively or really in any other way than scoring.

So I'd have to pretty much say "yes."  I assume people who do analytics professionally for ESPN and the NBA know what to value to put in a formula and how much to weigh it more so than... let's say some guy posting on a fan forum. 

I guess I'd flip it around to you, what flaws do you see in their formula?

The thing is, I think in this thread but definitely in the KO no defense thread (its hard to keep the KO bashing threads straight) other stats have been shown.  KO's def rating, his offensive rating, his +/-, they all say the same thing, KO is one of our better players. 

But people just can't accept that position defense, denying entry passes, help defense, hands up instead of swinging for blocks, taking charges, steals, passing ability, setting picks, and hustle can add up to make an awkward looking rangy white guy a very good basketball player, even if he isn't shooting particularly well.

That just isn't true.  Either you didn't watch, don't remember, or are flat out lying.  KO denied the ball to Drummond several times, forced him into a jump hook that he missed, and fouled him when he got the ball under the basket for a side out.   That is just the plays I remember off the top of my head.

...and with 7 minutes to go in the 4th, KO has 18 points and the 2nd highest +/- on the team.

But I'm sure that someone will post how Brook Lopez abused him (instead of Zeller, who Lopez dominated) or that his 2 assists weren't enough or something.

Someone hating on him in the game thread as he goes on a personal 7-0 run to extend our lead so that's a safe bet.

I'm thinking they give it a day or two hoping people forgot the game and they can just say anything unchallenged.

He played a hell of a lot better tonight because he wasn't playing passively. If he'd be more consistent with his aggressiveness most of the criticism of his game would be gone.

I know KO will have the O. I'm happy to see some blocks. It's the other side of the floor where I'd like to see him make strides so he can become a two way player.

i wasnt aware of any posters here saying the celtics should build their team around olly. most of the posters, myself included, see him as an above average off-the-bench scorer who can also rebound, just as he did tonight.

as for consistency, it is his second year and he lost playing time due to an injury. let's wait and see, shall we?
