An aesthetically magnificent multipurpose arena might be what the Innovation District Needs

A new arena definitely would need to be privately funded

These would all be nice things, but:

1) Would it be worth it to ownership to spend $700 million+ to make it happen;
2) Do fans want to see ticket prices increase significantly to fund these amenities; and
3) Is it a good expenditure of resources to put money into the stadium, possibly at the expense of the product on the floor?

I think if we focus on a multi purpose arena it would bring down the expense. That's what they are doing with the Warriors new arena. If fan experience is enhanced than I think people are willing to pay more.

To my knowledge a new arena  has never hindered a team from getting good quality players. It's all about improving the fan experience to the max without it being an expense to the fans. To my knowledge Brooklyn doesn't have trouble filling their stadium and paying out their players.

I like the old Garden .

You don't want the enemy comfortable on your battleground .

I guess I'm more about the actual game than all the junk going around it ......I could care less about more TVs and such ...

I there for the game .....oh .....and a beer.  ;D

I think fans have always and will always dish out the money for good quality services. Again Brooklyn has a less loyal fanbase yet have no problem filling an arena. Also I think a multi-purpose arena could severely bring down costs. Brooklyn has better amenities and people are willing to pay for it. Proof is in the attendances.

I mean I think Brooklyn fans go to the Barclays Center for the game and don't see the ameditie as junk.
If the seat can be wider for overweight fans I think that's a good thing which enhance fan experience. If good healthy food is a available during a game to health conscious fans that enhances their experience. If the acoustics are better that enhances the fan experience.

I know most people wouldn't want to go too a basketball game and be the only one there because then the fan experience would be void of any energy.
There all these little changes that can make a big difference for Basketball fans.

The Nets rank 18th in the NBA in terms of percentage of seats filled per game.  They rank 20th in fans per game.

The Magic play in the second newest arena in the NBA.  They rank 25th in terms of percentage of seats sold, and 21st in fans per game.

Your premise might be faulty.

More handicap accessible areas enhance the fan experience for handicap people.
