Well, at least we can't blame Rondo for DAL's thrashing at the hands of ATL tonight......oh, wait.

Dirk shot a blistering 2-7, as well.....but gets a free pass, I'm sure.

You conveniently forgot to mention that they were also without Chandler, Amare, and Parsons and were playing on a second night of a back to back vs the well rested Hawks who last played on Sunday.

No, I didn't forget to mention it..I simply found no use in doing so, because you and the other perennial Rondo detractors would've found something else to blame him for, LOL.

How about "IrK"'s lack of D? Look, I love Dirk, but 2-7? Seriously?

Dirk Nowitski (spelling?): " I can shoot however bad I want, because I can do NO WRONG IN BIG D......I'll simply mail it in, get an All-Star Nod, and try to turn it on in the post-season. My bad, lethargic play will be blamed on the scapegoat..."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r2r0Cfs8DI

".....NO - not THAT scapegoat ;D...."

"THIS scapegoat...."

"....I'll just let the hoopla surrounding Rajon Rondo mask the fact that I am not having a great season at all......I've won in DAL already."

This is a pretty ridiculous red herring.

But true, and you know it is.

I seriously hope that Irk can play better in the post-season, because he is not impressing me at all so far.

But again - DAL and Rick have a convenient scapegoat in Rajon Rondo. Dirk will/can ride off into the sunset and his eventual HOF entrance unscathed, but Rajon Rondo will take ALL the blame for DAL's woes this season, just watch.

Rondo's playing horribly in Dallas, I'm not sure why it's so hard for you to accept that.  No one's saying Dirk isn't having a disappointing season, but Dirk's the franchise cornerstone, not the new guy whom people are evaluating to see how he fits with this team going forward.

He's also not getting into a public shouting match with Carlisle.  Dirk's struggles are independent of what just happened with Rondo.  As soon as Dirk starts cursing out Rick in public, then you might have a point.  Until then, you're just kinda desperately grasping at strawmen in defense of Rondo for some reason.  He's been struggling, he messed up, and was out of line by doing what he did.  It is what it is.  Rondo's not above reproach.

And they lost without him.

It sickens me how people here dump on the guy so much, someone who was a big part of our championship run.  That alone should command respect.  How can we forget so fast everything he did here?  Smh.
If Rondo wanted respect in Boston, perhaps he should have thought twice before pouting himself out of town. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Wow.  How exactly did he "pout" himself out of town?
Where do I start? How about by handing the ball off on offense and standing around? Or refusing to take shots? Or not playing defense?
"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Then perhaps Dirk should step up to the plate and make it work.

Just like he did in 2010-11. Step up and put this team on your back. Bring Rajon Rondo along with you - he can help BIG TIME, but DIRK HAS TO step it up.

And he isn't.....and probably won't. He has no reason to.

If he is injured - sit down. Let Amare take over....he isn't gun-shy like Dirk has apparently become.

Dirk Nowitski is the face of the DAL Mavericks and he is simply not playing well and CelticsBlog is giving him a free pass.

CelticsBlog is giving Dirk a free pass because this is a thread about a struggling Rondo publicly cursing out Carlisle, not a struggling Dirk publicly cursing out Carlisle.

This is how I look at the situation (Regarding Dirk, Rondo's performance, etc):

No matter how Dirk is playing he will get the free pass that he deserves, being the face of the franchise. Rondo is the new kid and making waves will get way more attention than Dirk's lack of D and shooting woes. Sorta like if Pierce was still on the team and the  new comer was having issues. We'd lay into the new guy before we'd throw Pierce completely under the bus.

Rondo has a hard job of basically being a QB for a new system in the middle of the season. Also, couple that with the fact that Rick does all the play calling so Rondo's not going to be able to be creative. The Dallas people were reporting that Kidd had the same issue with Carlisle his first season (just not openly to the public). Rondo isn't comfortable being himself and Carlisle is rightfully uncomfortable handing the keys of the offense over to Rondo after only being there 20+ games.

They'll either figure it out together or Rondo will figure it out on another team. Also, the Mavs weren't all they were cracked up to be before they got Rondo. They had an easier schedule at the beginning of the year to boost their standings.

And because this is a thread about Rondo and Carlylse...whom is the coach of the DAL Mavericks...whom is the coach of Dirk.......

I'm not sure how that's adding to or changing anything about my post, but sure, yes, this is a thread about a struggling Rondo cursing out Rick Carlisle, the coach of the Mavericks and Dirk Nowitzki, not a thread about Dirk cursing out Rick Carlisle, the coach of the Mavericks and Dirk Nowitzki.

Dirk is old, not injured. He put the team on his back in 2011 because he was still a dominant player.

Also I have much more of a problem with intentionally ignoring a play coming from your coach than yelling at him. Teams yell at each other all the time and I do think it is healthy. When teams don't run the plays their being told to run then you really have problems with undercutting authority.

Well, regardless of who posts what....who said what....this or that...

I'm rock solid in my stance....unbending...unmovable. A stubborn Man.

At this point, I don't care if Rajon Rondo does go to the Lakers, to be honest...I hope he does, he and Kobe together.

I will cheer for them vs BOS - there I said it.

And I'll still bleed Green.

And I will - right there in the thread - two games a year.

And anyone foolish enough to challenge my Celtic Fanhood can just review my 10000+ posts on here and determine if I'm a real fan or not.

Most of the vitriol sent Rondo's way on here is simply unfounded and ridiculous. I've never said he was a perfect player, but seriously?

Yeah, I understand, that's why I kinda limit my posts when I see a gazillion Rondo topics because I know it'll go to the extremes. Anyways no one can tell you how to root and how to be a fan..it's all for fun anyways.
