I have to admit there was a couple times last night where he threw a temper tantrum and I was surprised he didn't get a technical foul.   Specifically, the time when he was on the floor and slapped it in frustration while he had a hissy fit.

Yeah agreed.  I think they stopped giving him as many techs but they seem to get him in other ways (I think if he didn't complain he'd go to the line more and get more calls).

I think the Celtics get under his skin for some reason though because it seems like he had two of his most hissy fit type nights vs us.  I think Smart p---es him off in part.  They end up seeing each other a lot too because of Cousins so often being the screener.

You're right, I thought it was my imagination. Cousins and Smart at times seem to be seeking each other out. I could see it on Marcus's face he was getting POed with Cousins crap.

There is a difference between playing with a chip, or playing hard, or playing with intensity, Cousins crosses the line into playing out of control. If he could direct his emotions into sound team play he would be special.

The thing is I think he's special anyways.  He's that talented and physically impressive.

If he knocked off the whining and tantrum business he'd be a real top 5 type of player I think.  Part of why I want to get him for a major price if we can.  I think he can figure it out in a better situation.

I really do think that about the refs and if he didn't complain he'd be getting to the line more and really dominating games.

Cousins is an idiot.

Idiots -- at least in terms of basketball IQ -- don't put up numbers the way that Boogie does.

What numbers? His team has a losing record.

Are you being deliberately obtuse, or are you just not reading what others have explained?

The starting lineup in particular, but lineups that include Cousins in general, are outscoring their opponents consistently.  The losing record comes from the team falling apart when Cousins is on the bench.

That's without even getting into the fact that lots of great players have played on teams with losing records (Anthony Davis, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, etc.)

He loves being deliberately obtuse.

I don't think it's deliberate -- that would imply something that wasn't beyond repair.

What's Cousins' PER?

24.39.

Good enough for top ten in the league.

sure, and kg's bb IQ was miniscule in minnesota. glad he got a brain transplant when he moved to boston!  ;D

KG took the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals.

So was it because KG got better IQ? Or because he was joined by Cassell and Spreewell? ::)

Those replays to see if he was going to be called for flagrant guy's with one T on him already were edge of your seat TV.  The NBA needs guys like him to keep it interesting.

Usually people only hate three types of players, 1) good players who hurt us 2) dirty players who hurt us 3) hate guys for the way they look.    I think Cousins has 1 and 2 locked up.

He has infant-like tantrums at referees literally every single game, and then pulls dirty Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. behind the play like he's some patron saint that's always wronged by the refs.

Such a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.

that's why i'm not overly high on us pursuing him. the dude is obviously talented but he seems very immature and I honestly can't imagine a player like this lasting in Boston or bringing a championship here.

Personally, I think we should do anything we can to trade for him. Guy is the best big in the league IMO

He was immature at times folks, blowing dust, and some of the antics, I sense a double standard here, except KG did not whine as much.
