I think we should all take a minute and give a shout out to the Milwaukee Bucks for trading Brandon Knight to Pheonix for no reason, thats really what allowed this to go down and for that cheap of a price. A million TP's to the Bucks organization!

Good young PG with an attractive contract. Adds depth. Dumps Thornton and the Cavs pick wasn't going to be very high..

Think he can be a real piece moving forward.

At least we got someone underpaid, and not all that old. Hope he plays well, then he is going to be really underpaid, it will be good for his trade value too.
Goal for next season: Top 2 seed.
Say goodbye to: Turner, Zeller, Sully.

That moment you realize we basically worked traded that netted us Zeller and even better Thomas for free... If I hear anyone ever call out DA again, how lucky are we?

Love Isaiah Thomas, but wouldn't have given up a #1 pick for him. Would've given Philly's 2 high 2nd's, but I think a #1 (albeit a likely 20s pick) is a bit too much.

Given the salary situation and the general lack of talent differential at that point in the draft, id rather have two high 2nd's than one late first.

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Celtics-Brooklyn deal just keeps looking better for Boston. The Pierce trade exception now turned into Zeller + Thomas
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

I heard a great disturbance in the CelticsBlog Forums, as if a thousand posters who roundly insisted a year ago that Ainge would never replace Rondo with IT22 suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Nice move by Ainge....we need rim protection but we also needed outside shooting and another ball handler.

Thomas put up crazy numbers last year (20/6/3) with a 20 PER this year he is 15/4/2 with much less time.  Also shooting near 40% from deep this year and 80% from the FT.

The only question now is who starts?  I like Thomas/Smart better than Smart/Bradley or Thomas/Bradley.

Exactly! And with a descending contract too!

Thomas signed modest four-year, $27 million deal this summer. Money actually decreases each year. Mere $6.3 mil in 2017-18.

Glad youre not our GM, this team needs a real point guard, Marcus Smart, Evan Turner, Avery Bradley are not real point guards.
Now that we have a real point guard we have actual ball handling and play making.
Plus Thomas is good friends with Cousins, maybe that could be also a way of luring Boogie next year.

Isaiah Thomas can score. Smart can defend.  Good combination to have.  Rondo could do neither.
