If rumors are true, out of all guards available the best combo is Dragic and Smart, with Avery off the bench and draft a backup Point.

Convert Smart to SG, the kids knocking down the three and guards 2 guards best, no 2 guard is bullying him nor flying past him, some one guards can get around him and his ball handling is sub par at best right now.

Dragic
Smart
SF
PF
CENTER

PG
Bradley
SF
Sully
Kelly or Zeller

Is what I see a contending team looking like. We're going to have make a choice of either sully or Kelly, probably will be kelly because he's on a rookie deal longer than sully.

There's alot of holes on this team. But as constructed right now we could make the playoffs with dragic as the 8 seed, but no way we make a run at a title unless those open positions are settled.

But at the same time.. I rather not trade for any of the players "available" aside from cousins and he's the least likely to be available.

I Just want Bradley not starting any more, turner gone, bass gone, Thornton gone and Wallace gone. Once all that happens. We'll be in the playoffs.

Danny is in on every point guard potentially available. He clearly doesn't see Smart as a point guard, and must have felt Rondo's best days are behind him and/or has too many flaws to invest in long term

I think the more realistic explanation is Danny is going for all the best players available,  and right now is pretty much all PGs

Also don't be surprised if he's looking for somebody to replace bradley at SG, not the Smart at PG.  I think they like Smart at PG

Never know which rumors are true, but with all the chatter around Lawson, Dragic, and now Jackson, it really looks like Danny is shopping hard for a PG.  Which implies we don't think Smart is ready to play full-time PG, at least not now and possibly not ever.

I still think the most likely outcome is that we don't get any of those guys, but it seems pretty informative on what the front office thinks about the current backcourt.

From what I've seen, Smart looks like he could work really well as a secondary ball-handler at the SG spot next to a score-first point guard.

Given the emphasis on positional flexibility, passing, and shooting in Stevens' system, I think pairing Smart with a player like Thomas, Dragic, or Jackson (though Jackson's shooting isn't ideal), would be much, much better than putting Smart at PG with Bradley or some other SG who is similarly inept at dribbling and passing.

From a team-wide perspective, I also really think the current group would benefit a lot from playing with a primary ball-handler and scoring option who can run the pick and roll and take the majority of shots each night.

I know, I know -- one of the team's strengths right now is the fact that they can spread it around and play the hot hand.  Still, I think having a focal point, albeit a modest one like Dragic or Thomas, could help other guys settle into more appropriate and consistent offensive roles.

It will especially help in the fourth quarter of tight games.  Having Marcus Thornton or Evan Turner as your best option late in a game is far from ideal.

Reggie is known to have turned down a Kemba type offer from OKC (4 yrs, $48 million). He wants more & believes he'll prove worthy over time.
Per Amick.

Wouldn't be surprised if he wants something near what Bledsoe got.
He looked good in OKC when Westbrook was injured... not sure he's worth more than that offer but very well could be as a long term starter. I like the idea of him over Dragic since he's younger, has a ton of potential, and (assuming) he won't whine about sharing PG duties with Smart. See if we can get him for pennies on the dollar
Yeah, he averaged like 20 points and 6-7 assists. Providing he's not asking for some absurd sum, I'd take him over Dragic too. My only concern is that I've seen quite a bit of him this season and he's looked chucker-ish at times.

He's be a nice match with Smart, with AB coming off the bench. Find a decent center that fits and we're on the way to making some noise in the East.

Don't pay to much and try to sign him before he makes it to free agency.

I don't like the idea of running 2 PG in our starting lineup
It creates defensive problems when against taller SG like Kobe

I think Smart could guard bigger guards but that is just me.

Agree here.

My worry is we may need to pay a ton of money for Reggie Jackson to him, as I think there would be a team that would offer him a lucrative contract, putting us in position to match or not. I'm not sure he's worth what he thinks he's wort, seeming as he already turned down a pretty solid offer.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Meh. Jackson is a volume chucker.

He's an improvement on the roster, but he's down my list of wants.

Far down it.

OKC has drawn interest from numerous teams about Reggie Jackson, but Milwaukee isn't one of them. OKC wants more than first-rounder for him.

Reggie is the type of guy Danny likes though. 6'3 with a 7'0 wingspan. Decent defender. I remember he was our guy in 2011 but OKC had the pick ahead of us and took him. I mean if we can get him and bring AB off the bench then i think i'd be for it. But I don't want Marcus going to the bench. He needs to be the guy. He and Reggie would strive together. Two guys that could avg. around 5 APG play solid defense and rely on them to handle the ball.

My thoughts exactly. I expect a lot of 11th hour deal since teams are posturing in order to try to squeeze the most out of Dragic, Jackson, etc.
