I would give up our pick this year to get his restricted free agent rights.

I wonder what they want for him.
You'd give up a lottery pick for Jackson?  :o
We probably make the playoffs with him but I would put a top 3 pick protection on it. Just in case.
Would we?

I don't think guard play is our issue. Furthermore his brand of guard play doesn't exactly open up new strengths for our team.
He doesn't help our team?

I think he's a huge upgrade over Bradley. He certainly is a lot more dynamic. He is a risk as his minutes have always been shortened but he has a lot more potential then Bradley.

Never know which rumors are true, but with all the chatter around Lawson, Dragic, and now Jackson, it really looks like Danny is shopping hard for a PG.  Which implies we don't think Smart is ready to play full-time PG, at least not now and possibly not ever.

I still think the most likely outcome is that we don't get any of those guys, but it seems pretty informative on what the front office thinks about the current backcourt.

EDIT: Hpantazo more or less beat me to this point I see.
I think we just need more ball handlers on this team. I'm not sure it's a negative on Smart. We just don't have many guys who can get into the lane and score.

I don't think it necessarily implies that Danny doesn't think Smart is ready for full time PG duties. I think it points more to the fact that he wants more ballhanders on this team as KeepRondo pointed out. It also seems to me that Danny might not view Bradley as a starting caliber 2 anymore.

Oh I agree, it doesn't have to be a negative, we could see him as a great 2 guard/combo guard for the future, just not a PG.  We figured out Bradley couldn't play PG last year but resigned him anyway, and he doesn't have nearly the upside of Smart.
Right so if we make the move, then we can move Smart to either position depending on how he develops. And then worry about what to do with Bradley.

That, or, Sacramento really wants a PG, and the Cousins whispers are for real.

That would be sweeeetttttttt. I wonder how much we'd still end up giving up though having to first trade for the PG then swap him to Sacramento, unless it was a three way trade.

I love Reggie (BC  Alum here so I'm biased), and even being one of the biggest Reggie fans I wouldn't give up more than the Clippers first plus a second or  two for him.

Everyone knows that he isn't going to be in OKC long term, offering too much would be essentially bidding against ourselves.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Setting aside the other reasons why this is unlikely, why look at Dragic at all in that case?  He's a UFA and reportedly just targeting glamor markets, Sacramento couldn't have any reasonable expectation of resigning him.

How about this idea?

Phx gets  RJax, JThompson  + 2016 CLE 1st
Okc gets  Turner, Thornton  + 2016 MIA 2nd
Sac gets  Dragic, Sully, AB  + 2015 Bos 1st, 2015 LAC 1st, 2016 PHI 2nd
Bos gets  Cousins, Perk

That's irrelevant if Sacramento does indeed want him: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/236675/Goran-Dragic-Wanted-Bad-By-Kings

I like reggae Jackson and believe he is a starter
But he's a PG

We already have smart

I don't like the idea of running 2 PG in our starting lineup
It creates defensive problems when against taller SG like Kobe

If we ran a 2 PG lineup the other PG should be at least 6'5 and be a combo guard

I actually think he doesn't want to trade Smart bc he sees him as a SG first and PG second. I think he could play well along with Reggie Jackson OR Dragic.  I think Bradley is the one who is on the out - especially on a very good contract.

As do I. I don't see Smart developing completely at the 1. He's a 2.

Danny is in on every point guard potentially available. He clearly doesn't see Smart as a point guard, and must have felt Rondo's best days are behind him and/or has too many flaws to invest in long term
You from Dallas? lol

Reggie is known to have turned down a Kemba type offer from OKC (4 yrs, $48 million). He wants more & believes he'll prove worthy over time.
Per Amick.

Wouldn't be surprised if he wants something near what Bledsoe got.

I originally didn't agree with this but I'm coming around. Even if he's not a two handling the ball a lot has to be the best thing for his development especially running the pick and roll.

The fact that the majority of his offense comes in spot up situations makes him look more like a two.

He looked good in OKC when Westbrook was injured... not sure he's worth more than that offer but very well could be as a long term starter. I like the idea of him over Dragic since he's younger, has a ton of potential, and (assuming) he won't whine about sharing PG duties with Smart. See if we can get him for pennies on the dollar
