Just kidding wit the Title..  ;D

But seriously, this kid is legit. He came out of nowhere and is currently #27 on Draft Express 2015 Mock Draft.

Let's start with the Physicals:

H: 6' 5"
W: 196 lbs
Wingpspan: 7'1"
Full Name: George Lucas Alves De Paula
Nickname: "Georginho"
Bday: 05/24/1996
(18 Years Old)
Position: Point Guard

The Physicals doesn't look that impressive until you realize that he's playing point guard with legit handles and excellent playmaking ability at the young age of 18, still very raw.

STRENGTHS:
Physical Tools
Playmaking Ability - Dribbles the ball like it has strings on it ala Rondo mainly because of his big hands.
Court Vision
Defensive Potential - has a knack to pick his man full court with excellent ball pressure.
Upside

WEAKNESSES:
Shooting Consistency - Meh
Decision Making - Meh
Fundamentals on D - Meh
Experience - Duh He's only 18

I really think he can slip into the lottery just like what happened to Antetokounmpo on 2013 NBA Draft.

[dang]...

when i read your title i was hoping that you found a player similar to giannis
so that we can get our own giannis like we should have drafted

this is false advertising

also giannis wasnt in the lottery. he was selected 15, so just missed it

nice find with the player
with international guards you should look for their craftiness with the ball (passes and ball handling) that usually translates well  e.g. tony parker, dragic

also dont really pay much attention to stats unless u want us to draft him with our lottery pick, young players usually dont get much playing time in international leagues

I am all on board for getting international players from the following leagues: Greece, Spain, Germany, Argentina, China and any team in Eastern Europe that qualifies for the Adriatic League.  I think all of those leagues have good coaches and competition, plus scouts can get good, consistent, non-cherry picked footage from all the games.

Guys like this might be ok, but they're probably getting subpar coaching and they're not playing anywhere near world class competition.  I watched that clip and he looked pretty sloppy in a lot of ways, I don't know....

I remember I was pretty hooked up on the 2013 NBA Draft. I remembered there's this one report where Danny Ainge flew out to Greece in order to scout the 6-foot-10 small forward with point guard skills(Giannis). I went on to youtube to see videos of The Greak Freak and my reaction was MEH he's just playing with a bunch of scrubs. People weren't also paying attention to Giannis as far as I can remember, same as with Rudy Gobert or Dennis Schroeder to some extent. Milwaukee certainly gambled on their 15th pick taking Giannis and that gamble paid off big time. I say we do it also if we get the chance. High risk high reward is the way to go since we have a lot of draft picks for the next two years. Just my two cents :)

Well, 7'1 span, Kawhi hands, 6'5, buys on D, team player, 18 years old. That here is the definition of potential.

Plenty of kids to look to with the later picks, but I hope Ainge pays special attention to that one.

"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

Logged in to start a thread titled:  Time for Celtics to Take a Risk?

about this kid.  Glad to see a thread already going, with a better title!  Although I'm a big fan of Jerian Grant I think he'll go higher than the Clippers pick and he is already 23 years old (though I don't care much about that).

And the big PG Russell out of reach with our lottery pick, so I'd say take a risk and draft this kid.
Of course by draft time he may no longer be viewed as a total risk but will still be seen as pretty risky imo....

Against lightning bug PG's he may have to guard the 2 guard....

Go for it Danny!
