recently point/fg stats not so impressive.  But his rebounds, assists, steals #s for a pg is exceptional (rookie or vet).    Smart's scoring will get better but not like 17-18 ppg game better.   Hopefully 15 ppg but a more realistic goal for now is 10-12 ppg.   Still with everything else he does on the court to help a team win, he will be one of the more unique pg this league has seen in a while.

On another note, the only bucket he scored yesterday was a left handed layup in traffic. Tommy sounded happy when this happened

Smart is a great player.

His defense is like nothing I have ever seen.

I agree.  His ability to defend nearly 4 positions is great. Willingness to even box out centers is a treat to see.

He should make the all defensive team starting next season. 1st or 2nd team, it doesn't matter but should be on it

Bill Simmons just mentioned on his podcast that he think that Smart leads the league in taking a bad shot and immediately attempting, and often succeeding, at forcing a steal on the other end. It's anecdotal evidence but I think I've noticed the same thing.

You imagine what he could do when he's 3-4 years into the league after he begins to understand all of the player tendencies and further develops physically. The amount of bad shots should decrease while the defense improves.

I like that he pushes the ball up-court fast most of the time. That was my biggest pet peeve about Rondo.

He's put up some big numbers the last couple games.

Not a fan.  Hopefully, we'll move him this summer for actual talent.

I don't think Rondo ever had this great of defense.

He's a darn good 20 year old rookie.  I'd take him in a re-draft all day.

I've notice this too. He tends to do something positive after a negative. Thats a +.

He's been just reacting to the opponent, and still stay's infront of most of them. Can't wait for him to have a better feel for the game. Even if he only scores 10 or 12 points a game, he may save just that with his defense.
