Ray Allen was a top flight athlete in his prime.

Yup, Ray's ability to take people off the dribble is what set him apart from Reggie (although that probably has as much to do with ball-handling as it does with speed/athleticism).
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Dawkins loves to shoot threes and Stevens loves the 3 ball. Sign him up.

better than loving to shoot threes is his ability to actually MAKE threes at a high rate. i think he will be chris babb II. but we will see.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Who?

Former Duke guard who graduated last year.  Son of all-time Duke great, NBAer for a decade, and current Stanford head coach Johnny Dawkins.  Younger brother is a freshman at Michigan.  He's looked good in the D-league so far, and someone will give him a flyer this year, with a few non-guaranteed years beyond.  He's probably better than Chris Babb.
hope he shoots better than his father --> classic case of really good college player that couldn't make the transition to the pros

No relation to Johnny Dawkins.  Interesting story though:

I thought that Johnny Dawkins was coming along really well, and then he sustained an injury that forced him to miss practically the entire 90-91 season, iirc.  Did that have a big impact on his career, because I honestly don't know that much about him.  This is what I get for watching a bunch of old games on youtube, lol. ;D

That aside, why do we want this guy when we already have James Young?  How many guys are now going to take away his playing time, lol? ;D  Geesh, tough break.  Green finally gets moved and Ainge is already looking for another shooter before Young can get back out there, lol. ;D  Ugh.

My mistake (and totally the internet's fault).  Both from the DC metro area and went to Duke, and the right age to be father-son.  Swear I read somewhere that he was, and that his younger brother was Aubrey (who is Johnny Dawkins son and played at Michigan).  But can't figure where I read it.

Those are dunks that any decent  6'6" Div 1 player could do, in all honesty.   Those are not top flight dunks, they may look good to a guy who can't dunk though.   I have always thought that only those who can or could dunk should be allowed to judge dunk contest because most people have no idea what is hard or what is not.   The ball bouncing dunks and the off the basketball tosses are some of the easier dunks to pull off.   But to Joe Doe on the street they are impressed.

A one hand is easier than a two hand if you can palm.  A reverse dunk is harder than a straight dunk.  Alley ops are not bad if you have a good thrower.   Two balls and 360s  and foul line jumps take ridiculous ups.  The other dunks not so much, in general the more done in the air the harder it is folks.   So a windmill is harder than a straight on dunk.   If your right handed it is easier to dunk from the left side and vice versa.

Exactly why I leave discussions of murder to the murderers.

You completely missed the point.

A. Sherrod Blakely
?@SherrodbCSN   League source says if the #Celtics sign Andre Dawkins to 10-day deal, will spend most or all of that time w/the #RedClaws of the D-league.

Looks like if the Celtics do sign this guy he will be heading up to Portland...Guess the Red Claws want to improve their seeding for the D-League postseason  :P

I should qualify my comment. A younger Ray Allen was undoubtedly an athletic marvel. The older version we got in Boston looked like he was in slo-mo most of the time, but he could still get anywhere he wanted on the floor, and put it in the basket pretty much at will.
