Let it go. Move on. Hes gone, and is no longer a Celtic. Good grief, if free agents ever read Celtics blog after the way we criticize Rondo after his sad departure, you'd wonder if they would be very wary.

Can we please stop criticizing Rondo for everything hes done wrong? I mean wow, a lot of the fans here are extremely ungrateful. I know its ironic, I'm complaining about people complaining about Rondo, but hes been traded, and time heals all wounds for those who miss Rondo. For those criticizing him, good for you, I guess some people really need excitement in their lives.

I really don't get it either. I just hope he gets a good reception from the fans on Friday.

never underestimate the power of stubbornness of people who need validation that they were right when they think they are/were.

It's not going away.  It's only now that we're out of contention that people dont want to talk about the Perkins/Green trade anymore

Ugh....

That trade was also something that made me inspired to make this thread. I foresee at least 80+ more threads criticizing Rondo before the 14th of January.

Rondo's a BAAAD man

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxLokrATgIw

He'll prove the doubters wrong, and help DAL along the way.

This blog needs a bad guy...'Toine, TA, and now Rondo.

Interestingly enough, all three of those enjoyed success once they left BOS...'Toine got a ring in MIA, TA's came close, and soon enough Rondo will have a case as well.

People will talk about Rondo and the Rondo trade for years, probably until we have a winning team again, and maybe beyond that.

Whether it be Antoine, Perk or Rondo, fans are going to remember them and bring them up.  Some of the guys who are anti-Rondo or very pro-management may be overly critical of him, some others may put an overly rosy spin on his contributions.  Many others will just miss him, but hope things work out for the best.

In a way, it's flattering to Rondo, that fans grew such an emotional attachment to him.

You mean the trade that cost us a legit shot at a championship?   ;D

Which is why I respect Ainge. He gave Perkins/Rondo/Pierce/Garnett great chances of contention instead of screwing them over. I hope Ainge can bring in some young players with potential.

Leave it to CB to still pick apart every one of Rondo's shortcomings when he isn't even on the team anymore

Said it best.

or the multitude of threads and wailing and hatred and moaning and cheering and whatever else that surrounded the trade of KG and pierce.

does anyone now really doubt the wisdom of ainge on that one?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

We weren't winning the title that year - not with Quis going down and Ainge not signing T-Mac or Mo Pete (who was waived during the season), among other things.  With or without Perk, I seriously doubt that we could have beaten Miami, let alone Chicago.  Had we been a lot deeper and used the approach that worked so well in 09-10 in terms of rest, we might have been in a better position by the time of the playoffs, but we started off the year trying to have homecourt, and I think that the important guys played too many minutes.  I honestly thought that our window had closed after Game 7, but they surprised all of us in 11-12.  Even without David West, we were probably Aaron Brooks and Michael Redd away from getting back to the finals.  Sigh.

nope, but they still dont hesitate to call for his head after every move despite the circumstances around it.

even the best GMs will make bad moves every now and then.  If you want a guy fired thats fine, but you better at least have someone youre willing to suggest to bring in to replace him that'll be better.

If they have as much trouble finding a quality point guard as they have had finding a quality Center, it may be said to cost them a championship...eventually... ;)

I did, but after realizing we had 3 picks, and they WERE all unprotected made me rub my hands with glee.
