I think the following would work,

Clevland get Koufas

Cetics get Prince, Adams, 2015 memphis 1st
(from clevelnd) (top-five protected and 15-30 protected through 2016, top-five protected in 2017 and 2018, unprotected in 2019) from the Memphis Grizzlies  (maybe memphis lifts the restriction as part of trade), and Cs get back their 2016 2nd rd pick maybe also pilage both teams players they have the rights to in europe the Grizz have a 22yr old SF Timma and Cavs have two PFs who look interesting Karaman and Macvan.

Memphis gets Green and Bass

The Cavs get the big the desperately need and he is young so he might be a long term solution

The Grizz upgrade talent at 3 and 4. This makes them smaller inside then I image they would like but talent is talent

The Cs move two player not likely to be with the team next year. Prince becomes a buyout canidate. Adams has some potential to develop. The pick adds to the stock pile. This cleans up the big man rotation and give Young a chance to earn some minutes at the 3.

Cap wise this may involve a few tweeks namely a small amount of salary needing to be removed from Memphis. Calathes may also need to go to boston to make it work.

Sorry, this is a little off topic.  Didn't Danny facilitate a trade a number of years ago that lead to the other team winning the title?  Was it a trade to Miami?  Could someone refresh my memory.  Thanks....

I think they would want Wright instead of Bass, but that deal looks great.

Wow, I bet they're regretting trading away Zeller right about now
They got Lebron thanks to that deal.

They could have included another pick instead, I doubt Danny made Zeller a sticking point
the Cavs needed the cap room
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah

Detroit.

I sure as heck hope it is not for Adams, he is not very athletic.  Has a 29" max vertical.

This is not the Adams we would want as in Steven Adams.

Varejao's foot is hurt so they need a big, Sully for Waiters, would take a trade exception to work and we get the Memphis number 1.

If we trade Sully for Waiters I feel that we have overpaid. He is playing really awfully this year. I'd trade them Wright for him though.

I would trade Olynyk or Green for him but not fat boy. Not yet at least.

Trade idea

To cavs: Koufus, Bass
To mem: Jeff Green,  Admunson, Haywood
To Celts:  Waiters, TE, Prince (waived),  memphis 2nd, cavs 2nd

I would be happy with that. Waiters for J.Green (and Bass) is a good return.

I think Waiters is the type of reclamation project worth taking a shot on by Ainge.

I agree they would likely prefer Wright, I actually think DA is going to hold on to him for the hopes of a bigger return at the deadline or possibly resign him in the offseason to flip him next year. He fills such a hard to find niche (athletic rim protector PF) that he is worth keeping around.

Yup. Danny wont be doing anyone a favor.

Bring in waiters and trade, waive nelson at the deadline

Unless we really make out on the trade, it will hurt to watch us help Cleveland land a good young center when we've needed one ourselves for so long.

There you go brother.......heck yeah ....TP

This seems like a horrible idea. Again, we are netting nothing for our best asset. How many times are we going to do this? Worst rebuild I can imagine. Late first and 2nd rounders aren't getting us back to being relevant. This rebuild couldn't be going worse.

I've been thinking bout the logjam in PHO, too. But how would even Thomas help us? Smart, although early, doesn't look like he's ever gonna be a star. He's not aggressive attacking the basket... and if he can't succeed in that domain, he's gonna be a role player on a good team. We keep stockpiling role players and I'm going to move to Dallas to become an all-out fan.

Seems like the rumors we have are Isiah Thomas, waiters or green getting dealt.  Ainge will do something else entirely or nothing at all.

Unless Green is going to CLE, or we can find a way to squeeze Thornton in there , both of which I don't think are very possible much less probable, then there's no way we get Waiters. For all his issues, I like the kid. There's confidence draining out of all his pores. CBS could do well with him, and he'd be great playing next to Smart, but he's really the only person they have on the bench who can really score. He has a good role on that team if he embraces it. But CLE won't give him up unless they're getting a real scorer they can bring off the bench in return.
