If I had that Sultry Ainge voice, I'd be on the phones all day, too.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I checked Woj's twitter and I blindly clicked on a link about the Celtics, which lead me to this story:

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/24895235/evan-turner-on-boos-i-dont-want-to-sound-super-weird-but-jesus-was-hated-too

Evan Turner on boos: 'I don't want to sound super weird, but Jesus was hated too'.  Note that this was about the 76ers fans and not Cs fans booing him

I love how he prefaced his statement to make it funny (I choose to believe that he is comparing himself to Jesus and not just using a super-power to make his point as simply a human). It actually helps him not sound super-weird.

Agree about Bass and Thornton. I think you'll have to wait a year for Wallace.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Bass can help a contender, so they should be able to get something for him.  I'd like to see Wallace get more minutes given how soft this team gets at times.  At least he hustles.

Steve Kyler from basketball insiders also jumped into the rumor mill

Celtics, Pistons, Suns, Timberwolves, Hornets - are seller in this market. Pacers, Nets, Nuggets and Rockets buyers...

Surprised to see that the Nets and Nuggets are buyers.

Agreed re: Nets, but that probably means the Nuggets want to package two or three of their good players for one really good to great player. So they are sellers in a sense that they are giving away some good stuff but more buyers in the sense that they are looking to upgrade.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

...and we can be either sellers or buyers depending on whether a big piece (cough, Melo) happens to be available.

Danny has positioned us well to have that flexibility.

Melo isn't available.

Given what we know, we are sellers.

Philly fans would probably boo Jesus too if the team wasn't going well.

Aside from the fact that he's a superstar in his prime that just signed a huge extension and he went to NY because his wife loves it and he probably loves it too, he'd also have to waive his no trade clause, which would cost him millions.  I really don't see it happening and what is really scary is he is still one of the more likely big name guys we could get

Surprised not to see the Knicks not on these lists:

From Bleacher Report (yesterday):

Quote
The Knicks will probably keep Carmelo Anthony for now. But rival executives say that everyone else at the Garden is available, possibly even the ball boys. J.R. Smith is the most likely to be exiled, if the Knicks can find a taker.
