Adrian Payne, Denis Schroeder,  and a lottery pick.  Throw in Olynyck and take
their second rounder as well.  Teague to the Lakers.  Lin to the Hawks to back
up Rondo.  Atlanta gets L.A. second round pick.

I'm with you until you have the Hawks somehow relinquishing Jeff Teague to LAL for Jeremy Lin and a second rounder (albeit a high second rounder).

Yeah, that's kind of ridiculous. I'm not against trading Rondo for a decent return, but there's some serious Rondo-hatred underlying those posts.

RR doesn't have much trade value.  He has value to the Celts if he gets a new contract, but I think the issue is how much RR would demand and how much would DA be willing to settle on.  All of that, however, is predicated on the assumption that RR has a serious interest in staying with the Celts. 

If DA does trade him, I doubt he could do better than a late 1st and some cap space.  Any team that trades for him does so as a short-term rental.  DA is a shrewd trader, but he is not a magician.

I like the idea of Reggie Jackson. If Rondo goes we will be left with Smart (too inexperienced at this stage) and Pressey (not good enough) as our potential PGs. Unless we're totally pulling the plug on the season we would need a reasonable quality PG who ideally could shoot a bit. If we can pick up a decent big man in the process that's just gravy.

However... I don't think we get a good enough haul this season to justify trading him.

Accounting for the current state of our team and Rondo's recent play, if the bolded was a safer path to contention vs. bottoming out and developing youth, we'd fetch a far greater return for Rondo than that of any of your proposals.

I'd ask for Larry Sanders instead of Henson in your first deal.

I'd ask for Charlotte's pick this year in your second.

I'd try to send Lamb and Mitch McGary to a third team for another chip - maybe to Golden State for one of Barnes and Draymond Green - in your third.

Yeah, that's kind of ridiculous. I'm not against trading Rondo for a decent return, but there's some serious Rondo-hatred underlying those posts.

I think it's a lack of understanding value. Some people don't understand that teams possible like the Knicks or Lakers would trade for Rondo and give up decent value. Those are teams that would sign him as a free agent. The reason you trade for him now is it puts you in the driver seat to keep him. There a not a lot of examples of big name free agents leaving their team and that often comes down to the fact they can offer the most amount of money!!!!!!

Danny Ainge should be fired for messing this up. Rondo should have been traded as soon as he came back last year.Now you're looking at fair market role player value for him. This time listening to pink hats should cost Danny his job. Between this and passing on The Greek Freak and drafting Banks 2.0 this year it shows me Danny Ainge is not a good GM.

Basically the market for Rondo looks bad, just to many good PGs in NBA right now.

I think the trade partners come down to LAL, Knicks and Rockets. No of those teams are giving up an elite asset for Rondo. I could see the knicks working a multi team deal sending out Shumpert and Calderon to bring in assets for the Cs. The lakers have nothing outside of an injured Randle. That leaves the rockets.

I believe the Rockets have the pelicans pick this year protected 1-3 and 20-30. I know its early but barring a major injury I cant see them making the playoffs this year. The west is just too strong they are currently 11th and thats with OKC at 12. This would make their picks a late lottery this year and an attractive trade piece. I could see DA making a deal built around that pick at the deadline.

I agree with what most people have written (Rondo being in an expiring year reduces his value) but this does not mean he is untradable or his value is extremely low. To keep things in perspective, in his expiring year Philly got for Hawes Earl Clark, Henry Sims and two second round drafts. And  Hawes was having a mediocre year.
The key question is which team/s might need really badly Rondo, ideally with improving its playoff chances in mind.
Having said this, I start thinking the best option might be for us to resign Rondo, provided of course he wants to stay in a rebuilding team.

Rondo is a non scorer , pass first player on a turrible team .  ....a horribly under talented team , with no elite players . 

Of course he is going to look bad most nights .......

He has NO TALENT, no center ,  other than Jeff Green and a young Sully nobody to help him.

This team is Danny doing ......he owns it ...good and bad

Rondo didn't build this team .
