We agree to disagree.
To be a max player or an elite player you need the all around game. Rondo is one or two dimensional. His play again is very good surrounded by an established winning team where his faults are not noticeable.
All Im saying is, he is not a player to build around. He is not Pierce or KG in their prime. He is not a JWall or CPaul type.
He is a chip in a rebuilding franchise.
I don't see him as a Player who can lure a MGasol, KDurant or James for that matter.
He's just not that type of player!
If Rondo is here past the Feb2015 trade deadline, I expect great things to happen in the future. I expect one of those stars you mention or perhaps someone you didn't mention joining BOS next season, or perhaps sooner.
A star will be drawn here by a collection of reasons - not just our All-Star future HOF PG. They will be drawn here on our Tradition. They will be drawn here by our competitiveness. They will be drawn here by Coach Stevens, Danny and our bright future.
For all the talk about John Wall, CP3 or some of the other star PGs, the rubber has to soon meet the road, especially with CP3.
We talk about "the talent surrounding Rajon making him better and hiding his flaws". What about CP3?
CP3 is perhaps the most well-rounded PG of our time. He's had David West, Tyson Chandler, and now Blake and DeAndre in their primes, and even Doc Rivers and Byron Scott as coaches.
Does it really take having a PG with ALL the tools to win it all? Some would say "No - but having a CP3 puts you in a better position." While I can't argue with that, so far it hasn't been proven to me, at least since Magic and Stockton helped lead their teams to success.
