Two sites have us picking 17th right now.

One gives us Mario Hezonja while the second gives us Tyus Jones.

Pass on both.

BTW, one has the Lakers picking #2 and getting Towns.  That would just be awesome (insert sarcasm comment).

I see that you used NBAdraft.net, what was the other site?

I don't think we will be picking as a far back as 17th, in the draft.net mock we would also pick 20th.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Yeah, it is never too early.

I don't think Danny is keeping both 1st rounders and Phily's second rounder (we can say we are almost certainly picking 31). I hope for a trade to upgrade the center spot and that would most probably involve a pick or 2.

If we keep the pick and select in the teens, I'd like to see how the season unfolds for WCS, Myles Turner and this Jaiteh kid in Nanterre France. All 3 seem reasonable targets and could be nice additions.

Unfortunately, only WCS could be ready for NBA action and that does not fit a Rondo-led team, heading to the playoffs plan.

If we somehow see the Washington 2nd rounder (saying the Wiz have the 11th or better record), I'd like Vezenkov as a draft and stash pick: He has been the best player for one of the best teams in Greece - Aris and is only 19. Good size for SF. Recently led the u20 EU Champs in scoring and rebounding

HoopsHype:
pick #5: Stanley Johnson
analysis: I have no idea who this is!
pick ?? (from LAC): ???
analysis: Hoopshype is not aware of our rights to the Clippers pick.

WalterFootball
pick #7: Kelly Oubre
analysis: I've heard the name of this one. He is not a legitsevenfooter, a freak, a pitbull, or a gazelle, as far as I know.
pick#26 (from LAC): Andrew Harrison
analysis: He was supposed to be really good and then wasn't so good but is still kind of good.

NBADraftRoom
pick#6: Randae Hollis-Jefferson
analysis: I'm still really just waiting for someone to slot us one of the sexy names. It hasn't happened yet.
pick #28: Willie Caulie-Stein
analysis: that would be solid as heck, right?

ESPN
pick #4: Myles Turner
analysis: Legit! Gazelle! Wingspan! Giant hands!
pick #27: E.C. Matthews
analysis: East Coast! Easy Championship! Eats cantaloupe?

Interesting never heard of Vezenkov I'll have to look him up. Jaiteh has always intrigued me but I've wondered if he never had intentions of leaving France. Feels like if he was serious about his career he could have declared 2 years ago. That being said if Danny took him I'd be ecstatic since he'd provide great depth at the 5.

I'll be watching a lot of Kentucky this year. They have 3 centers that might look good in green.

Towns, Cauley-Stein, Johnson

I wonder how deep the top of this draft will run. Right now 2 guys look elite: Okafor and Mudiay. And then there is a stack of about 4 or 5 guys that look really nice. I can't wait for the college bball season to start.... I think tomorrow!

I think the Harrisons just need more time to develop their games. I like their skills.

And i absolutely have my eye on Myles Turner. He looked to have a ton of skill in the all America game.

yup, never too early.

our pick we'll be in the lottery -- high in the lottery, at least as high as it was in 2014.  we just don't have the talent to close out close games so our record will reflect that problem.
I think we'll be looking at a solid foundation-quality prospect this year and maybe (longshot I think) flipping the Clips pick and Philly seconds to move up if Danny sees someone he likes.   wouldn't be adverse to using those picks on player to stash overseas.

Hadn't consider the Wash pick as likely but they could very well finish high enough to send us that pick.  another candidate for a Euro stash or a project player that could develop into someone useful with some D league work

Just looked up Vezenkov, quite the prospect. Constant look of intensity. Repeatable shooting motions he's got great listed height at 6'9 and his arms look long. I wonder what his wingspan is.

agreed. while i am sure danny will go with the BPA, if the celtics pick in the top 15 they should be able to walk away with a good defensive center.

Some latest mocks, our pick only.

Hoopshype, updated as of 12/25 has us picking 10th and selecting WCS.  I'll take that any day!
NBADraft.net, updated on 12/30 has us picking 9th and taking Montrezl Harrell.  That would be PF in three of the last four drafts.
Mynbadraft.com, updated on 12/24 has us picking 10th and selecting Kelly Oubre. Mathis one intrigues me.
Walterfootball, updated 12/10 has us picking 10th and selecting Tyus Jones, a PG.  I don't see that at all.

The other ESPN mock has us taking Mario Hezonja and Jakop Poetl now. For a draft where we're not getting a crack at the top 5, I do like that outcome. Poetl would seem to be the classic "raw athletic big with all the tools," but the reason why he's kicking ass this year is because he is playing smart and developing some sound offensive skills.

I'd still really really love to steal Harrell, though.

I'd be scared and exited if we pick Hezonja. From what I saw, he is super talented. Could be a go to scorer in the NBA. Though, From what I heard he thinks he is the second coming of MJ, has poor working habits and is no team player. I hope Danny and team research deep on him before picking.
