Hey VG, my comments weren't in response to your statements at all.  I was more responding to incoherent theory in general.  Sorry, I should have dropped the whole quotes from that post.

I agree my theory is completely foil hat related. But that's what I do best.

OK, my bad for being overly defensive in my reply.

The fact that is missed is that most of our bench players where the ones on the floor in the 4th quarter because they were on a roll, so singling out Rondo is foolish.

It is a thread about Rondo so I am not sure how I am singling him out.  The fact is that the team at that moment in time played better after they took Rondo out.  There are certainly other factors in play but if Rondo is the "build a contending team around him" guy; "best player on a contending team" guy, there should not be any situation where the team plays better in the 4th quarter of a close game with him out of the game.

I didn't see the game but I'd guess that he means that multiple starters were out of the game, and you're trying to attribute the entire change in play on Rondo and not the others.

It wasn't overly complicated.  All lot of bench guys were playing well last night.  Bass, Pressey, Turner all looked good.  Most of the starters sat during the stretch that rondo sat.  Brad was probably just letting them play a bit longer because they were playing well.  He brought green, rondo, ab back in to finish the game.

How something that is positive (our bench played well) gets twisted into Rondo was being 'sent a message' and pouting and now is missing games on purpose is beyond me.
In my first post I said that I don't buy the Rondo pouting theory and I don't but that is not the point.  Rondo is supposed to be capable of being the best player on a contending team.   He was compared to Isaiah Thomas in another thread.  Anyone who doesn't sing this out is called a Rondo basher.

If he is the best player of that caliber, he should not be being replaced by Phil Pressey under any realistic circumstance.  It is different to say Bass was in for Olynyk or whatever.  I think that is news worthy and ripe for discussion/debate as to why.  If what you are saying is that Rondo is no more important to the team than Olynyk so Rondo-Pressey, Olynyk-Bass, just play whoever is hot, what are you saying about Rondo?

I think that is nearly as far fetched as the Rondo pouting theory.

Going with your theory, KO's played about 1.5 times what Bass has and Rondo's played about 10x the minutes Pressey has, so I guess the minutes don't say Rondo and Phil are interchangeable. As for the point blink seemed to be making, playing the bench for a few extra minutes when they're doing well or the starters are a bit flat isn't an unusual occurrence. Doc often left the backups in for longer than usual because they were playing well. In fact it wasn't overly unusual for Doc to call one of the big four back to the bench after he'd sent them to sub in because he decided to give a little more run to someone on the floor.

But either people don't notice that things like that ever happen or they don't remember that they do, so when it happens and someone decides that it's thread-worthy they act like it's an amazingly rare occurrence that needs to be dissected for all possible meaning. It's even to the point that we're in a thread about how Rondo's skipping a game to send a message to the team. It's silliness. People are trying to read the tea leaves to find things that could possibly be construed as "the team's not that high on Rondo".

I think about the 4 min mark, you see Rondo ready to come in, only to get pulled back by BS. He starts talking/complaining to BS , instead of just sitting down.

BS also stated that in game 1 when he pulled out rondo with 4 min left, Rondo had this expression "what ,your taking me out?"

Just sit down and listen to the coach.

I applaud BS for leaving Pressey out there and should of let him finish the game unless he screws up and someone else needs to come in.  Like i have stated many times, the team comes 1st. Wins come first not Rondos stats or having to please one player

Tonight im going to especially enjoy watching a Rondoless celts play.  Its too bad Smart is not able dress up though

I refuse to take the words of anyone who uses the phrase "should of" seriously. Everything else you said might as well have been meaningless drivel.

Makes 1000 times more sense now that the Doc "sensed" they needed to be removed sooner rather than later.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

So this is how Rondo retaliates to being benched for nearly the entire 4th quarter in last night's game? The most logical thing to do would be to play and then remove the screw.
Someone tell me one reason why he wouldn't wait until after the game?  As someone pointed out we have a huge rest coming up and there's no need for Rondo to miss this game.

Very disappointed Rondo won't be playing when he obviously has the choice to.
I don't buy the Rondo pouting and deciding to skip a game theory, but I am glad you brought up that Rondo did not play for most of the 4th quarter of a close, winnable game last night.  His previous 3 games were 37, 37, and 34 minutes but this game he only played 28 minutes.

Good for Stevens if he did take Rondo out because he didn't like something about how Rondo was playing (we were down 3 when Rondo came out and up 5 when Rondo was put back in) but is that really what was going on?  I was watching the game on TV but with distractions but it seemed Rondo was moving the ball pretty well.

Any theories or additional information on this?

The fact that is missed is that most of our bench players where the ones on the floor in the 4th quarter because they were on a roll, so singling out Rondo is foolish.

It's too bad Doc never saw used this strategy while he was in Boston.  My feeling is we lost 20-30 games over his career here because he never kept the second team in the 4th quarter when they were on a roll.
