I know we haven't even started this season yet, but I'm a long-term investor...

I ask this question because 95% of you are more knowledgeable than I am on basketball. Given that BK will have either crappy or no draft picks for the next four years, I'm trying to figure out when they're really going to start sucking. Hey, we'll get screwed in the lottery, but we'll have a few weeks of hope...
I'm looking out to the 2016-17 season, although I'm secretly hoping for 2015-16.
I think they're actually going to be okay this year. Lopez scares me, as long as he doesn't spend too much time in surgery. D-Will has to be better than last year, as does Kirilenko, even as he ages. Joe Johnson should also be able to produce. After that, well, I don't know what to tell you, but when Jarrett Jack is the best guy on the bench and you've got no idea what Bogdanovic will bring, you've got depth issues.
2015-16: They've still got the Big 3 and whomever they take with Atlanta's pick in the draft. No cap room to do anything, unless they can unload a bunch. They could still sneak into the playoffs this year, assuming that the East hasn't seen enough improvement to look decent, but it's going to be close.
2016-17: Now it gets interesting. You've only got $26m of salary going into the year, with JJ and Brook Lopez now free agents. JJ's gonna be 35, so you're not going to get much from him if you want to resign him. D-Will will be 32, so he's on the other side, as well. You have to hope like hell that Brook Lopez is A) healthy and B) willing to resign. You also have to hope that you can convince a bunch of free agents that they'll be in the limelight in New York, even if the city reads "Brooklyn." LeBron ain't leaving Cleveland. If he doesn't leave, neither does Love. Durant may stay in Oklahoma City, but if he doesn't, sounds like he's going to DC. If he goes to DC, no reason for Beal to leave. They could make a play for two of the big names, a la Cleveland getting Love and Lebron, but they have no third piece (Irving) and no hope of getting one, with only the Celts' pick the following year. I have no doubt that there will be great players available who are stars now, but it could be an ugly season, particularly if they get no one and sign a bunch of vets with expiring contracts for the following year. I'm thinking we are swapping picks with Philly in summer 2017 and getting a good one.
2017-18: Don't know. Several big names, Rose, Griffin, Howard are UFAs this year. The 2017 class looks strong, so I'm worried that they'll have cap room to bring in a couple of good players. This will be their last year without a first-round draft pick, so if they have a lot of cash to spread around, they should be able to sign a couple of good young guys.
Okay, thoughts?
