He is the first young athletic big I can remember us having in a long time.

I would like to keep him, but unless the Celtics somehow trade Bass away, there just isn't any space on the roster to justify keeping him.

Waive Faverani.

That'd be eating not a small amount of salary. It'd also leave us even more under manned at C. If his injury is season ending or close to it it could happen I guess.

We're already short on Centers, so why waive a team friendly Center just for another PF...

Faverani got busted for drunk driving, and he's injured.
Powell is a better player and his money is guaranteed in any case.
And we have Zeller, Anthony, and Olynyk to play center.

Man nothing like watching youtube and two preseason games to declare someone is a better player.

Of course people on twitter were putting Powell as better than Olynyk/Sullinger too when the trade happened.

If his injury is a long term one I'd be fine with them waiving Fav, but only then. I don't care about the drunk driving thing. That wasn't ever confirmed from what I heard and Fav and his agent denied it happened last time I read anything about it.

Okay, and other Celtics members haven't made mistakes?... Bird, Cousy, Sullinger..? Also Faverani said its all false, and the Celtics haven't said anything to dispute his allegations.

No he isn't... He's an excellent passer, but hes a big that can't defend, but has great mobility. Intelligent, but is a very soft big that doesn't rebound well... Last time I checked a good PF is someone that can rebound, and shoot long range/mid range shots.

Zeller is doing pretty bad, Anthony is a 3rd string, and KO needs to be at PF; wheres he mainly comfortable.

You missed the point.
We already have three centers, and Faverani isn't any good.

Yeah cause a PF that played in a weak conference in college, and went drafted in late 2nd round is...

And please before you bring up a Manu Ginobli reference/Marc Gasol, etc.

Powell is as best suited as a back up big... Sully/KO have the potential to be starting PF's on good teams..

Powell isn't a good player... What has he proved to show he is? 2 games of preseason in garbage time?

Faverani isn't.

And you know this from his 17 min of vast pre-season experience?  i guess this is the season for jumping the gun and just making blanket statements that have no basis in fact.

I like what I saw from Powell today too.  it was 17 min of pre-season basketball against backups for a really poorly prepared knicks team.

In the first few games of the REAL season last year I think Fav did more for the team.  Saying that Power is a good player and Fav isn't based on what we have seen is silly.

No, it isn't.
It's pretty obvious.

look anyone can just act like their opinion is fact.  Here I can do it too.  Comparison of the first game from Vitor and the ONLY game powell has played in the NBA.  Wow Vitor has a lot better stats, he obviously is a lot better.

Vitor 11/1/13 - 12 points / 18 rebounds / 6 blocks (first game of the year last year)

Powell 10/07/14 - 17 minutes - 2 points / 3 rebounds / 2 steals / 1 block (first game that Powell played this year - preseason)
