Same old, Turner, one or two dribbles too many. Ridiculous shots. Even the one he makes. And plays amazingly vs college level players. The only time he looks decent is when he is on a terrible team like the Celtics are now. He is horrific in efficiency wise.

Let Marcus Smart get 40 minutes a game this year so he can learn what the ball looks like when it hits the bottom of the net.

Turner is trash.

I agree to an extent but even I who loves rebuilding and the idea of tanking can't complain about paying him 3 mil a year through 2016. That's exactly the right contract for a volume shooter with upside.

I have never loved Turner but one thing I find funny is how he has written off.  Even if you don't love his play, you have to admit he has had some success.  And why would he be some anomaly of a player that didn't improve along the same curve as someone else?  As he gets older he is bound to improve.  Why couldn't it be in efficiency?

Also a big thing to remember: he was being asked to PG last night.    He may at times in the rotation but Rondo will be out there in season.

I personally have been very optimistic about him.  He wasn't in good situations before and I think in the right system he can do well.  A good thing for him is that he can kind of jump in and do what is needed.  He is a versatile player and I think he can do well.

Lately across sports I have seen some good performances against bad competition written off.  I get the thinking but at some point hats off if Even Turner goes out there and beats up on poor competition.  That's what good players would do.

He's exactly what this rebuilding team needs at the moment; someone who can create his own shot.  That aspect was severely lacking from the Celtics last year.  They don't have guys on this team right now who can attack the rim or create things for themselves offensively.  Turner can do that.  Doesn't appear he can play much defense and his ball control is questionable but I'm willing to look past that for the moment.  Especially for what he's getting paid.

Now I don't think he'll end up a long term solution in Boston but given this current team's weaknesses, I have no problem having him on the roster right now as they continue the rebuild.

This is a great point.  This team has needed that more than anything (even the fabled "rim protector").  It's why I legitimately did like Jordan Crawford on this team.  We need players who can make plays out their with a good handle and scoring and some passing ability.

I loved the rebs last night. They just need to tell him and Jeff Green whoever rebounds more and plays better defense gets the starting gig.

Turner had a great game 5/11 shooting. I just don get it??? if he had a bad game you wouldve still made a thread. Your on a celtics forum. Give your players a little praise. Im pretty sure he played better then your favorite Celtics player. I understand it was the 76ers but he clearly took a  leadership role last night and made "A GREAT EXAMPLE" for the rookies. CAN YOU AT LEAST GIVE HIM CREDIT FOR TTHAT???

If you ever followed Turner he actually a great player, He just havent lived up to the hype as a amazing player which was given to him. WTH does he ave to do to please you especially at this point. The man was playing with a mission.

Totally agree TP! Truenr played with fire and thats what our rookies need to see. His presence amped up Smart and Young. Made them feel extremely comfortable. He stepped up when given the chance to. So far he has done his job as a Celtic. idc if its one game against the Dleague allstars (sixers) he still did his thing.

Come on, Turner is a decent player no reason to bash him that hard. IMO he is better than JG, JG can be a better scorer when he wants to be but Turner has a better all around game.

I'm genuinely looking forward to Turner and seeing what he brings to the table. We certainly need as many score first players as we can get.

player does well - he's cannot fool me
players does bad - trade him immediately

there is no satisfaction on this board....EVER

Besides Rondo and Bradley, Turner is probably our best guard/forward off the bench that has experience and can ACTUALLY contribute right away

Nobody should get too high on Turner or too low on Zeller.  Or anybody else.  It's one preseason game.  Still, he looked good, you'd think fans that watched the Celtics to be entertained would at least be able to take some enjoyment out of that.
