His explosiveness was lacking and his lateral quickness wasn't there. There's a reason that most of the comments you see about Rondo from nba players, coaches and gms talk about how they expect him to play better next year when he's farther away from the knee injury. Also, his number of passes that weren't for assists is about the same as it is for most of the other top point guards.
I suspect that I am in the minority but I just did not see it that way. I don't think there are any posted stats that directly measure lateral quickness and explosiveness so everyone has to base their opinion on what they saw on the court. To my eye, Rondo moved just fine, exploded just fine, but when he got to the rim, it was more crowded with defenders who were keying more on him than other players on the court. That is life when you are the best player on the team vs. the 3rd or 4th best. Rondo had 30 games to see how it is to really be the best player on a bad team so hopefully he will be better adjusted to that when he gets back on the court this season.
If you watched the games and saw something different or if you base your opinion on what everyone else says (which in your case, I doubt), what can I say, we are not going to agree. Rondo said himself that he was 100%, many times. I have never heard him or Ainge or Stevens say Rondo was anything other than 100% last season (which I know, they are not going to say, yeah, he was not sure of his knee but we put him out there anyway). So I guess we all hear what we want to hear (it is called confirmation bias).
