I know people keep saying how skinny he looks and that he needs to put on weight (I agree), I think you are going overboard with it, he doesn't look any smaller than a lot of the other rookie bigs I have seen. Now, the shoulders, there is no hope, it goes a half of a half of half an inch from neck to shoulders lol.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Powell could be a stretch-five with three-point range, which is a nice thing to have.  The Celtics could be considering moving on from Faverani if they like Powell enough.  Some teams may find Faverani's unguaranteed 201-2016 salary to be attractive.

I thought his 3yrs were fully guaranteed?

As far as I know, the last season is unguaranteed if waived before July 15, 2015.

We'll see but the best part of this deal may wind up being the stay of execution with the 5.3 mil.

No sir, the best part of this deal is getting rid of Bogans! :)

Haha. Yeah, he just didn't really seem to have the self awareness that Humphries did about the situation last year.

But who knows, the 5.3 TPE could gift us a Thomas Robinson type or maybe a distant lotto protected first.

So, final tally on the KG/Pierce trade:

2014 #1 from Brooklyn
2016 #1 from Brooklyn
2018 #1 from Brooklyn
2016 #1 from Cleveland (top-10 protected)
2015 Washington #2 (top-49 protected)
2016 Cleveland #2
2017 Cleveland #2
Right to swap 2017 #1s from Brooklyn

Tyler Zeller
Marcus Thornton
Gerald Wallace

We also picked up a small trade exception in the Washington deal, a moderate trade exception from Cleveland, and possibly somewhere else along the way.  Lastly, Marshon Brooks was packaged with Jordan Crawford for Joel Anthony and  a heavily protected Philly #1, which will end up turning into two more #2s.

It's like the NBA version of Dallas trading Herschel Walker to the Vikings.

Depending on where those #1's wind up in the draft, there may be a lot of trades that brought in higher quality assets but how many have nabbed a larger quantity?

I can see I'm with the minority based on a lot of post. I just don't see the positives. I know what we got but there is no value in them (players received) or it (bottom of entire draft picks w/ low TPE). I would think Bogans could have been paired with a Bass, Green or some other kind of trade to bring back some kind real value. Not that Bogans would be traded for undrafted level players on non-guarantees + picks. We had that already in Babbs, CJ and at a time Pressey. Also those picks Cavs gave up are garbage. The roster just grew with more scrubs along with another plethora of lame picks. DA held onto and paid Bogans for that haul? I'm a big DA supporter but outside the draft dude has serious failed this off-season. I don't want to think how some one who didn't like C's draft views this off-season.

Bass and Bogan = 12 million.
Green and Bogans = 15 million.

Who is going to trade a player making that salary for that return?

Not sure. It can be an endless guessing game from now till  end of Bogans' contact.
Edit: Also I never said it had to be for one guy either. Can be a combination of things. Maybe a partial salary dump ect that scores a lower lottery pick.

It's always fun to play the game of what we "could/should" have done, especially when we have NO inside information on what can actually be done.

Same with me. I had hopes for a trade on the scheme to clear the logjam at positions:

Boston sends a useful player (Bass, Thornton) + filler contracts vs. 1 relatively useful player (Perk...).

Anyway, I don't think it is a bad trade. I get the logic and benefits and try to like Powell.

TP for the summary

I like the Dwight Powell guy.
Lots of potential there with Stevens as coach.
Could create some nice mismatches as a stretch 4 or 5.
One of the reports said his handle was much improved this offseason.
Wouldn't completely write him off as an SF.

Anybody who has watched Erik Murphy?

I see 45 % from 3 (72 makes out of 159 attempts) in his last college season. 6'10 - good size for stretch forward. Why could not he be a Steve Novak or Matt Bonner 2?

Might give Powell a run for his money for a last roster spot.
