Monroe is a center who is not very good defensively.

I don't get the hate on Monroe.  He just turned 24.  To say he's not very good at something is a little overblown.  Does he not block shots ?  Not really.  Blocking shots doesn't mean you're not very good defensively.  The game is far more than blocking shots at the Center position.  Sure, having an intimidator in there would be nice, but again, doesn't mean he's weak defensively.

For me, he's a rising star and still developing his game.  He thrives around the rim and provides solid rebounding from the Center position.

He's also an excellent passer.  Pairing him with Sully and/or KO could be a lot of fun.  Offensively ;D  I'd take him in a heartbeat.  Green for Monroe?  Done. ;D

I really hope Danny has a plan in place.  There is a lot of question marks right now.

Green for Mcgee or Mozgov makes too much sense not to happen.

Can't see the Nuggets keeping/playing Nurkic, Mozgov, Mcgee (with Hickson also able to play some center).

I actually don't even mind a Green for Hickson trade.

Pistons will want much more than Green.  Prob something like

To Detroit: Green, 1st pick (protected), Young
To Celtics: Monroe

Which i would't be down for

In a trade idea I made earlier involving Detroit and Monroe, I had us getting Monroe while dealing Green and Bass, then signing Turner to fill SF void. With turner signed is it possible we may deal Green for Monroe or another big fish (Love? :D )

I love you guys, crying a river about not geting ED DAVIS... we land Evan Turner and suddenly it's the worst move possible.

Absurd is the word I'm looking for.

They've cried over each and every move since they didn't get Davis, Melo, LeBron, etc.

*Danny started the offseason with two picks (6 & 17) and a $10m TPE.

*Danny so far has picked well (Smart & Young), got a $4.5m ish (TPE), Zeller, Turner and a 1st.

I mean, that's darn good work right there.  Yet all we get is sob after sob.

Post of the summer right here.

No, it's actually beyond hilarious.

The Pistons have known they're not retaining Monroe for months. If they wanted Green, it would have been done long ago. And I'm sure that the Timberwolves can do better than Green and parts for Love.

Yep and he also got a good shooter in Marcus Thornton too. I think the Celtics might be poised to make another move this offseason, probably in the form of a trade.

Or maybe Danny hasn't made a move on the Pistons yet. The Pistons are probably waiting for the offers to come to them rather than actively search and appear desperate to unload him.

I've been a bit harsh myself on the moves, or lack thereof this season, but looking back, it's been methodically well done.

They're not looking to "unload" him because he is, in fact, not under contract with them.

They've tried to get something for him, according to Woj "The Pistons have been willing to engage teams in sign-and-trade scenarios for Monroe, but those talks have gained little traction, sources said." So acquiring Green and a pick wouldn't be what they initially wanted, but something they settled on in order to not lose Monroe outright. Plus, it helps that Green actually fits that team well with their glaring need at the 3 and their surplus at the 4/5.

Are there any more guards available that Danny hasn't offered? I get the move in that he's buying low on a guy who could have a solid season. That said, I guess we have to ignore everything we have heard about this guy in terms of the locker room, being a bad actor, etc. As someone mentioned earlier, this is less a team and more a warehouse of average to slightly above average assets. If another trade doesn't follow this move I will be shocked. Not a turner fan. We shall see....

Wow. Cool signing. Danny Ainge is looking to get a sneaky home run here.

I have no idea how they are going to hndle the roster crunch. There are a lot of players who are going to be expecting minutes.

I like Turner's talent. I hope this works out!

Well, it's not like our wing depth set the bar any higher than the ground last year.  He can't be worse defensively than Bayless, and he can't be worse offensively than Wallace.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
