TP to OP for starting this thread. Great question, and there isn't a better guy than Green for finishing games, and that fact is scary :/

Why in the world anyone would think KO would be a better option in crunch time than a 4 time all star (RR) is just impossible for me to understand.  Yeah let's depend on a 2nd year role player (although a decent player) to get us points in crunch time.  Obviously we don't have a closer on this team, but to say that KO will be that person this year is ludicrous.

I think last summer he wanted the team to start out the season running it's offense through KO based on Oly's summer league performance.

If KO is the go to guy in the fourth quarter, there is a very good chance we either have the first or second pick in next year's draft.

what?

KO has the package to be a good scorer. Efficient scorer.

I guess you missed the last 5-10 games of last season

Yep. KO is ready to go to be a fourth quarter go to guy? I guess those last 5 games proved it.  ::)

It's gonna be James Young. Dude can really score. Thornton will also help.

I'm excited to see what Young can do.  That dunk vs Uconn to get Kentucky out that scoring slump was huge

Get your tickets for Maine if you are excited about what Young is going to do next year...

Well, I do think that James Young certainly has the ability to be a go-to guy down the stretch of games, as he showed in the biggest moments in the NCAA tournament this year, but if he does't get any run this year (which would really p--- me off), I'd give it to Smart - either in the post or on the wing.  Why?  Simple - free throw attempts.  The guy's will to win, combined with his slashing ability could give us something we haven't had since Pierce was traded - the ability to get to the line.  A lot.  Of course, who am I kidding, the refs royally screw Celtic rookies every year, so maybe he'll be that guy in 2 years ;D

Tbh Marcus Thornton might be our best go to scorer in the waning minutes of games. He's a high volume scorer and can impact short periods of games. Which means a llineup of Rondo, Thornton, Green, Sully and Zeller might be a lineup we'll be seeing a lot when games are close

James Young just turned 19 years old. What makes you think he is ready for the big stage?

This next year it will be Green and Thorton. In the future it will be Smart.

Sam Cassell was just a rookie back when he hit those game winning shots in the 1994 NBA finals.

+1.

James Young 19 or not could be a real good one.  I think if he stayed another year in college , he would put up some serious number.

His 3 pt shooting only can get better

Brad Stevens  :-\  Green and Young have been clutch at various intervals... It will be by committee since we once again don't have a true superstar scorer.

Right now I dont know who our go to guy is.  Scary thought.

Nature hates a vacuum, so hopefully one of our guys will develop into a better fourth quarter player and seize the moment.

Or...the vacuum could be us sucking the whole season.
